Chapter 43:Public Announcement (1/2)
”Hello,” a low and charming voice rang, ”My name is Song Ren, and I am the President of Song Pharmaceuticals and Corporation.”
The cameras continued to click. Song Ren felt nervous, but she composed herself quickly, her face hard and unwavering against the crowd of people. In front of the group, her nerves will be as hard as steel, and her expressions will never falter unexpectedly.
”I am glad to be of service to the public. My main goal is to ensure the integrity of the company, and that we prioritize the health of our country,” Song Ren began to say tactfully. ”As the future CEO, I will be responsible and take every move and action seriously going forward, as I did as an intern before taking this new position,” she paused.
”My team is motivated by the people who are underrepresented in our community. Our goal is to reach out to patients who cannot afford medicine or hospitalization. We create to help everyone, despite their social status or income. We offer clinics across the country that serve our citizens; the money comes last, and the patient comes first. We provide medicine that is affordable and effective, and we continue to maintain our reputation as one of the greatest health companies, not just in China, but globally.”
Song Ren softened her face, her voice, ”I, Song Ren, as president will ensure that we think of you first, because we care. I care,” she finished.
Qian Meigui looked toward her. It was rare for Song Ren to show a side of her that was gentle and genuine, and yet when she faced the public, she was not afraid to prove it. She did not express fragility nor helplessness, or white lotus; she addressed her audience by showing who she was.
”Any questions?” She asked the reporters, who held sketchpads and notebooks in hand, with their colleagues facing her with a camera.
She pointed out to one of them, and the journalist stood. ”President Ren, I want to congratulate you on your new position,” he began to say, ”Can you address the public about the case with the Jian's. Mrs. Jian claims that you sold drugs that are harmful to the public. How do you respond to that?”
”Certainly,” she began to say collectively, ”that is a good question. Right now, we want to maintain the privacy of our clients. Confidentiality is something we keep rooted in our company's values. What I can say about the lawsuit is that we are doing our best to ensure that the plaintiffs are safe and don't suffer any losses or repercussions. We are taking this very seriously, and my legal team is working hard to ensure that the family is feeling as comfortable as they are throughout the entire process,” she finished with a professional tone.
”Thank you,” the journalist said, feeling satisfied.
Another journalist stood up, ”Is it true that your drug almost killed the family's son?” asked he.
Song Ren stared at the reporter hard, knowing that the media will always try to stir some controversy. She knew that very well, indeed.
Song Ren smiled at the journalist, ”that is for the discretion of our legal team,” she said.
”Why are you trying to hide and mask the incident?” he persisted.
Song cleared her throat, ”We are not hiding anything,” said she, ”We merely want to maintain our confidentiality.
