Chapter 25:Drunk (3) (1/2)
Qian Meigui sat in an armchair near the sofa. She bundled herself up with a blanket as she crossed her arms over her knee.
She glanced over at the glass windows where the moonlight peered through with a ray. She followed the light as it rested on Song Sheng's handsome face.
His long eyelashes fluttered, his jaw hard and tight. His dark hair tumbled over his face, and his white-collared shirt hugged and traced the outlines of his muscles. Qian Meigui looked away, damning her mind for having such intrusive thoughts.
She tried to sleep sitting up when she heard the crack of his voice, ”Water,” he said dryly.
She swiftly approached him with water and placed the cup to his lips. Qian Meigui helped him sit up to drink the contents down without choking. He drank the water within two gulps, and she ran to give him more water.
Afterward, she found some bread and approached him. She ripped the food in pieces and began to feed him. He ate slowly and stopped. He then laid back down.
”You have to try to get the alcohol out of your system,” she said.
Song Sheng opened his eyes and glanced at her with a deep gaze. His hair tousled over his eyes; he appeared more charming than usual.
Qian Meigui pouted at him for not listening when his hand reached up to tuck a strand behind her ear. Slowly, his hand moved down to caress her cheek. Qian Meigui froze, hovered above him.
His fingers twirled between her brown strands. His hand slowly moved up to caress her chin. His fingers continued to roam her face, stopping at the seams of her lips. Her lips parted open in surprise. What has gotten into him?
”Your hair is beautiful,” he said. Qian Meigui smiled grimly, ”Thank you,” she responded.
She knew that in his state, he would say anything incomprehensible. So she disregarded his compliment.
Song Sheng looked at her directly. His golden-brown eyes narrowed and focused on her face. His incessant stare was scorching, and she did not know what to think of it.
Her chest sped up rapidly, and she tried to stand to prevent him from hearing the beats of her heart, but he quickly pulled her into his embrace.
Qian Meigui knelt on the ground as Song Sheng held her upper body. She was at a loss for words. He squeezed her tightly, and Qian Meigui thought perhaps he, too, missed her after all this time. Therefore, she leaned in and hugged him back.
After some time, Qian Meigui felt as if she could not breathe. She tried to escape his embrace when she felt him flip her underneath him on the large sofa.
