52 Chapter 52 (1/2)
Chapter 52
”Are you all set?” Rue was looking at James, who was currently sitting floating in front of a large screen, his tentacle hovering over an option.
”I think so?” He still wasn't sure what to expect, or even if this was a good idea. Following the epic conclusion of the battle, his stream chat had blown up. Text was flying so fast that James didn't have time to even read all of it. Rue, noticing his predicament, had quickly instructed him on what to do next. He simply went with her suggestion, his mind still replaying the fight he had just witnessed, and not really comprehending what she was suggesting.
”You'll be fine. Trust me.” She offered him a smile, and for once, her eyes didn't hold a single hint of their mischievous light. James couldn't help but wonder if that was a good or a bad thing. Were those the eyes of someone that actually cared for him? Was he starting to truly care for her? She was an AI, but that wasn't that strange nowadays, was it? James shook his orb and cleared those thoughts from his mind, his tentacles floating in front of him. If ever there was a time to not fall for an AI, James figured playing in a game where he was a giant freaking orb with tentacles, was the proper time. No matter how cute the AI pixie was.
”If this goes badly, you owe me.” James sighed and selected the option, instantly posting his thread on the forum for dungeon cores.
Rue had convinced him that all of the other cores would want to know what was going on, and just what James had done with his dungeon. Because of how fast the chat was going, he couldn't possibly respond to everything. So, the pixie had recommended he create an Ask Me Anything, or AMA, thread. These were threads James was familiar with, as people usually used them as a way to interact with fans. Even though James had built up his own following, he was still a loner in the Warcraft Universe. As such, James had never really done anything like an AMA, and yet, now here he was.
Glyax's Dungeon AMA
He stared at the name of his thread, and for a second almost hit the delete option. What were people going to ask him? Rue had made him post in his stream chat that he would be making an AMA, and then after a few minutes, he had closed the stream. Then, he had started to create his thread.
Hey everyone. Thanks for checking out my stream! It seemed like everyone enjoyed the fight, and chat was blowing up so much that I really couldn't respond to or even read what everyone was posting. As such, I figured I should make this AMA, to give you all a chance to ask away. I'll do my best to answer whatever questions you guys have.
Cheers
Glyax
Cheers? Really? James shook his head as he checked out his message again. He definitely felt he preferred to be the silent, secretive legendary Warlock Glyax, to the uncertain, eager to answer questions, Dungeon Core named Glyax. Why had he let Rue put him up to this?
Dungeon Type?
*/TM- Is your dungeon type really Steampunk Dinosaurs???? How many times did you reroll for that mob type?
**/Baller84- NO, his dungeon type is freaking candy monsters? Of course they have to be Steampunk Dinosaurs. Sheesh, what a pointless question. But really, I do wanna know how many times you rerolled man? It took me 6 V Coin to get fire mobs.
James stared at the message as it came in. He could already see notifications of others typing their own messages, and he figured he should respond to the first question, before it became too flood, or before TM got flamed some more. Oh was Baller84 in for a surprise.
***/Glyax- Actually, my dungeon type is Random, and I didn't reroll at all for it. I choose random over Fire and Earth dungeon types.
The moment he answered this question, a new thread appeared. It seemed people were preparing their questions but waiting to create threads based on his answers. Now that he had answered one, it was leading the AMA down its own path.
Random Dungeon Type?
*/DahManWithTheHat- How does random dungeon work? Is your first floor different from your second? Can you bring versions of your first-floor mobs to your second floor?
James had found out through the forums, that all of the dungeons that had a single theme for their mob types, in other words, every dungeon other than his, was able to bring enhanced versions of their mobs to their second floor. This allowed them to carry over their enhancements on these mobs, and even led to some even more difficult mobs for players to deal with. When James had asked Rue about this, she simply informed him he would be unable to cross his floors with his mobs. She did reassure him though, that he wasn't missing out on mobs.
Apparently, his velocity raptors were an evolved version of a tier 1 mob for steampunk dinosaurs. However, it's first 10 points were predetermined because he didn't have their Tier 1 version unlocked. When James started to protest, Rue told him he would be able to completely adjust all 20 of their skill points once he reached Tier 3. It was a while away, but James begrudgingly had agreed to wait. That didn't stop his mind from racing about possible monsters he could be missing out on. In his mind, he was imagining a massive, ostrich sized dicken pack chasing down adventurers. He had even wondered if those giant dickens could have been used as mounts. He felt like he had seen such things before.
**/Glyax- I have to start creating my floor, and then summon a random mob on it. That generates the mob type that I have for the entire floor. My first floor is actually Demonic Farm Animals. And no, I can't bring my farm animals onto my second floor. ☹
***/Baller84- Dude that sucks! I can't believe you passed up on Fire mobs either man. Sure, first floor was kinda lame with lava lizards, but my boss on my second floor is a 15-foot fire elemental man! And according to my AI, I'll have dragons as basic mobs by floor 5.
****/TM- Both your floors sound cooler than mine… I got stuck with water mobs. I don't have the V Coin to spend to reroll yet…. It was a choice between Water Mobs, dolls, or insects…fml
James was about to respond to TM, before he noticed more questions popping up.
Dungeon Floors with Random?
*/Stormy- So, do you get to at least choose between three options on each floor? Or is it completely random? Because, I rerolled about 9 times to get the floor type I wanted (Ice dungeon for me! My second-floor boss is an Ice Giant!) and let me tell you, there are a lot of baaaaaaaaaaaad choices the developers seem to have just thrown in.
