35 『Insolence』 (1/2)
Arriving at the front gates of the incomplete concrete wall of Adamantite and Serviceable metals, Vertum was dragging the unconscious seventh seat of the scripture behind him. Her light brown hair visibly melding with the flattened dirt paths. While she was still heavily wounded, she was also alive and thanks to his power, she wasn't going to die just yet.
He had used 『Assimilate』on the dead bodies of the Black Scripture, essentially turning them into flavored potions. The dragon had even collected the World Item, equipments and armors which were left behind.
He now had a large amount of things he could use in order to bolster his future forces! An upon drinking the Captain's potion, he learned of even more treasures under guard in the Theocracy.
They were going to be his next target, he knew. If he was able to get his hands on the Theocracy's Miko Princesses, he'd be able to turn the tides against them. Their power, their influence over the region would fault and all would be his!
However he also learned of something new, there was something in the Temple of Wind, a closed casket. No one has opened it, the Captain didn't even know what was inside.
This would have to wait however, until not only he brought up his renown, but expanded around his current settlement. He couldn't go into an outright war against a nation when he could be surrounded by enemies on all sides.

That never ended well in war, especially from his knowledge of wars on Earth.
As he was approaching the village center, he narrowed his eyes on a man with blue hair. It was the swordsman from when he had invaded the Death Spreading Brigade of Brigands.
His eyes narrowed on the human male who was looking at him with a brow raised, looking at the girl in a short skirt and unusual school uniform. ”Uh... Do I want to know?”
Vertum simply shrugged at the man with a slight grin over his lips. ”Slane Theocracy sent one of their special operations divisions to put me and my people down. I eliminated... Most of them.” He looked down to the girl who was on the ground, covered in blood and dirt.
There was one more other than the seventh and eleventh which remained. It was the extra-seat.
Brain Unglaus looked over the girl which the dragon continued to drag towards the edge of the village. He followed the man, as he had promised to make him stronger, as long as he served him. He was going to beat his rival, and someone who could defeat a special ops group, was going to be the person who gives him this strength.
A small smirk curved over his lips, though he was slightly bothered by the fact that he was dragging a bleeding girl, Brain didn't comment on that.
”Wait... Can't you teleport?” He narrowed his eyes on the Dragon who looked over his shoulder towards the human.
A smug look appearing across his face, Vertum blew a subtle raspberry like that of a whispering horse. Clearly he didn't take the man's question seriously. ”Isn't it healthier to walk? Being lazy and getting fat isn't on my agenda.”
Brain's eyes narrowed forward as he recalled the Dragon eating the head of one of the fallen mercenary brigrand members. Getting fat from eating people? That didn't sound good.
Oh, right... Drink this,” drawing an object from his item box, in his hand would be the potion derived from the 'Strongest Human,' who was the tenth seat of the scripture. He then tossed the dark crimson red potion for the man to take.
When he popped the cork off of the potion, he sniffed it... It smelled like cherries. Raising his head from the mouth of the potion, he looked to the Dragon. ”What is this...?”
”Think of it as a boost of power,” This was good enough to start the man off, as the Black Scripture alone was stronger than the Head Warrior.
Brain looked at the man with brief skepticism before following through with what he was told to do. The instant that the liquid touched his tongue, he felt a spark of energy run through him. His muscles buckled and a feeling of euphoria shot through him. He didn't stop drinking from the glass bottle until it was completely emptied out.
Once he took the glass away from his mouth, it disintegrated.
”So it was a magic item...” He frowned slightly, having not even bothered to think of using magic to appraise it before he drank it. For all he knew, it could've been poison.
While his vision and other aspects seemed to be slightly impaired at the moment, he could feel the skills and power of another person come over him. Knowledge, memories, things that weren't his filled his mind. Yet instead of pain, he continued to just feel pleasure from the experience alone.
”Yes,” Vertum didn't really care for any continued dialogue.
As they continued into the Great Forest of Tob Brian began to notice that the wall had even continued into the woodlands. ”Interesting... Where are we going?”
Simpering to himself as he heard a light thud sound, the unconscious member of the scripture had hit her head on a thick root that lined their path as he dragged her along.
