603 Fire Wolf, Sever (1/2)
”Damn it.”
”Why are there so many of them? They are all Moksha Realm beast puppets.”
The people from Wind Assault Tower all had rather unpleasant expressions. As they expected, the mechanism was a trap, and it was not of average difficulty either.
In the blink of an eye, the players who had entered to watch the fun became the first batch of prey for the large group of beast puppets.
Happy and the others watched indifferently as the twenty or so people were surrounded by the beast puppets and were either torn to shreds in the air or were overrun by the hoard. Some were even slammed down to the ground by the beast puppets who had jumped high above them.
The twenty or so people instantly suffered the consequence of following a group of people into a place where they did not know what was going to happen. It was a disaster caused by curiosity.
”They're all Moksha Realm beast puppets… They won't be easy to deal with.”
Silver Wolf remembered that when he was in the royal mausoleum, it took awhile to win against the puppet generals, and they were just at the peak of Life and Death Realm.
Right then though, they had run into beast puppets who were much more agile and made of sturdier material. And by the looks of it, there were more than a hundred of them. Their group of six would be exhausted just by trying to fight against them.
Wind Chimes already had her Six-stringed Demonic Zither in hand, and she calmly threw a sound blade at the closest beast puppet. When it crashed into the puppet's body, there was no effect whatsoever, and her expression instantly changed.
”Their defense is nearly at Inaction Realm.”
Phantasmal Shadow said nothing. She had been paying attention to Happy and his party's reaction. When she saw that even Silver Wolf and Wind Chimes found that the puppets were bothersome, she quirked her eyebrows and groaned inwardly.
There was no way she could not tell just how powerful the beast puppets were. However, it was true that she did not expect that there would be such traps. The most dangerous scenario she had imagined had just been a few Inaction Realm elites appearing, but there was Happy, Silver Wolf, and the others around. Along with the people from Wind Assault Tower, it would not be hard for them to get through that. But who could have guessed that they would instead be faced with beast puppets that were even harder to deal with than a group of Inaction Realm martial artists.
Happy said nothing. He had remained silent for a long time while ignoring the group of unfamiliar players who were in extreme misery. He just kept staring at the Recondite Steel Gate to the right with burning eyes.
Clang!
As if in answer to his call, the stone doors stopped coughing up beast puppets, and the Recondite Steel Gate rose up slowly with dull but loud bangs.
Phantasmal Shadow and her party quickly noticed that and were delighted. ”The entrance to Sky Demon Secret Cave has opened!”
But right when they said those words, they noticed a solemn expression appear on Happy's face, even though it had been calm and indifferent before. They quickly stopped talking and cast their eyes in the direction of the Recondite Steel Gate once more.
Thud!
The floor of the front hall of Sky Demon Sect trembled slightly, and dust rose into the air.
”What the heck is this?”
Everyone's gazes were attracted in that direction.
At that moment, another dull thud rose and rang through the hall. The floor trembled slightly as if something heavy had drawn even nearer.
Happy frowned. He could sense that everyone's emotions had become solemn and tense as the sounds drew closer, so he immediately said, ”Careful. The people over there will not last for much longer. Prepare for battle.”
As he spoke, the players who were lured into the hall because of their curiosity were finally unable to last against the crazed ambush from the beast puppets. Their body fortifications were torn, and they were all forced to a corner where they died.
However, there was no one who would delight in their misery at that moment.
The deaths of those people meant that the beast puppets' attention would turn to the altar.
The mysterious heavy footsteps were also heading toward their direction from the large Recondite Steel Gate, and soon, half of a huge beast puppet's head came out of the Recondite Steel Gate in a terrifying manner. Its large mouth was filled with fire while it stared in their direction with great hostility. The temperature in the entire hall instantly rose by a lot.
