89 Searching For Xixi’s Mother (1/2)

”Tell me where you kept the victims of the Nanjing hypermarket incident,” Long Yu directly asked the researcher.

”Eh? Nanjing hypermarket incident…” The old man seemed to be confused for a moment. ”Oh! You mean that bunch…” he finally recalled something.

”So you do know them. Where were they kept? Do you know where they are now?” Long Yu asked with a bit of hope.

Although he knew that Xixi's mother was actually moving around inside the facility, it would make it easier to find her if he had a clue.

At this point, the old man was a little suspicious of the young man's intention. 'Was he sent by another organisation to retrieve the test subjects? Or maybe the headquarters wants to destroy the evidence?'

”Is there some place the staff would go to hide during an emergency? I want you to bring me there,” the young man's voice suddenly broke his train of thoughts.

The old researcher cried out in fright when he heard Long Yu's words. ”Nooo! You can't! It's too dangerous to go out there now!”

With his cowardly personality, the old man naturally rejected such request. After all, he barely escaped the monsters that killed the other researchers. This was also the reason why he had been holing up in this room for the past few days.

Long Yu stared at him in silence before reequipping his helmet.

Seeing this, the researcher sighed a breath of relief as he thought the young man had given up.

However, he suddenly found his butt leaving the desk and into the air. Long Yu had once again picked him up by the scruff of his coat and started walking out the door.

”Stop! Are you insane?! Let me go!” the old man yelled hysterically at him.

”Look, cooperate with me and I might bring you out of here. Otherwise, you'll eventually starve to death here anyway,” Long Yu dropped him outside the door and looked at him in the eyes.

Eventually, the old researcher relented, albeit with reluctance. He knew it himself; after not consuming any food or water for the past days, his end would eventually come. Since that was the case, he might as well take the gamble.

”Fine… I agree, but…you must first give me some food…” he weakly demanded, unsure whether the young man would agree.

Fortunately, he was able to receive a few packs of biscuits and a bottle of mineral water without fuss.

He then started to bring Long Yu to the location he requested, but not before stating that, ”It's not my fault if the person you want to find is not there.”

Luo Xi's pink slippers were now slightly stained with blood as she blindly navigated her way through the facility.
