In a room full of vertical standing chambers, several scientists walked around checking their contents.

Inside each chamber were weird looking creatures filled along with transparent blue liquid. Disfigured body and faces, exposed bones and sharp looking claws, the appearances of the creatures were horrifying. There were no other words suitable to describe them except the word 'monsters'.

The only oddity within that room was another chamber located in the middle. Unlike the others, submerged inside the chamber was a beautiful young woman. Compared to the other creatures, she was akin to a flower stuck among a pile of manure.

Stuck behind the neck of the sleeping woman was a long tube which connected to the exterior of the chamber. It was supposedly something that helped maintain the woman's unconscious state.

”How are the tests going?” a tall old man in military uniform asked the scientist beside him. Although the man's facial hairs had all turned white, his sturdy looking figure still gave off an oppressive feeling. Based on the various medals that were stuck to his chest and shoulder area, one could tell that he possessed quite the authority in the military.

”General, although we had great results with the other subjects, we have yet to achieve any breakthrough regarding this particular one. Besides, it hasn't even been long since you handed her to us,” the scientist could only honestly speak the truth with a wry smile on his face.

Hearing his reply, the general frowned briefly before shaking his head. As he looked at the woman inside the chamber, there was a look of yearning and anticipation on his face. It was not lust for her mortal body, but for the power that she held.

This woman along with multiple other 'victims' under the guise of a 'necessary quarantine', had been transported to this underground research facility. After the breakout at the previous facility, which lead to the mayhem at the hypermarket in Nanjing, the government had ordered for all those involved, be it victims or corpses to be secured.

At first, the victims were still willing to cooperate since it was a request from the military. However, when someone in the group inadvertently stumbled upon one of the experimentation rooms in the facility, things quickly went out of control. The personnel of the facility tried to explain themselves but to no avail. The group naturally started to revolt, demanding to be sent home. After all, who would be willing to risk staying here and end up as a guinea pig.

During the scuffle, the guards were forced to point their guns at the group. Who knew that this would rile up the group even more, causing them to try to wrestle the guns out of the guards' hands.

Eventually, things got violent and some people were beaten and tasered to the ground. A particular person in the group who had been calm all along finally took action when she was approached by a guard with his taser. With a fling of her arm, she threw the guard 10 meters away like a rag doll. Within the next thirty seconds, the entire crowd of guards were also beaten down just like that.

This obviously caught the attention of the General as he knew how important the matter was. In front of the woman's ability, their current experimental subjects were lacklustre to say the least. Not only were they uncontrollable, they were also horrible to look at.
