21 Frightening Little Girl (1/2)
Surprisingly, no crashing sound could be heard this time. His fall was cushioned by something invisible.
Xixi, who was standing next to Long Yu, sighed when she saw him faint again.
Although she was not sure how Long Yu magically made things appear and disappear, she did not intend to ask. After all, this wasn't the strangest thing she had seen in the past hour.
Xixi sat down in a kneeling position beside Long Yu. She then placed his head on her lap so that he would feel more comfortable.
Suddenly, screams could be heard not far away from their location. Within seconds, she heard footsteps running towards their direction.
”Hurry bro, run for your life or we're going to get eaten by those bastards!” a young man with short blonde hair could be heard shouting to his friend.
”Well, no sh*t. It's all your fault for screaming and attracting them in the first place!” his nerdy-looking friend in spectacles argued back.
Xixi, who heard them, could not help but click her tongue.
”Noisy idiots,” she muttered in annoyance.
”Hey, little girl, hurry and run! Those monsters are coming!” the young man spotted Xixi and shouted at her, when he saw that she was still sitting on the ground, unmoving. When his gaze shifted to Long Yu, he realised why she stayed there.
”Hey, is that man your relative?” He checked out Long Yu, who lying on the ground, with his head on the little girl's lap.
Noticing the blood patch on Long Yu's shirt, his expression turned ugly.
”Sorry to say this little girl, but if he really was injured by one of those things, you won't be able to save him. You should quickly leave with us,” he tried to persuade her. It was unknown if his bluntness was due to the stressful situation, or just an inherent trait of his.
”Chu bro, why would you say that? She's just a child,” the friend in glasses elbowed him.
”What, Ming Fan, I'm just telling the truth. We gotta hurry, those things are coming,” the young man's face turned pale at the mention of the zombies.
Seeing Xixi still sitting there, the guy in glasses named Ming Fan, hesitated for a while, before calling out to his friend.
”Chu Sheng, you carry the young man and I'll bring the girl.” he gritted his teeth and said.
The blonde hair young man, Chu Sheng, gave his friend an incredulous look.
”Are you crazy!? Those things are already on our tail and you still want to bring the both of them with us?” he shouted.
”Shut up, it's our fault for bringing those things here in the first place. Are you really going to leave the girl here?” Ming Fan berated him.
”You- fine! I'll do it, but remember this, if we die, it's on you!” Chu Sheng said in anger. He knew his friend was right. He could not bring himself to abandon the girl.
While all of this was happening, Xixi who sat there, was getting more and more pissed. She just found these two people annoying, and wanted them to go away.
Chu Sheng relented and was going to ask Xixi to move, so that he could carry Long Yu. However, when he noticed her cold gaze, which was looking past him, he had a bad feeling.
Ming Fan also frowned when he heard the sound behind them. Turning around, he saw what he expected.
The sunset casted tall shadows of a group of stumbling and growling figures, making them look even more frightening. They were obviously heading towards this direction, intending to devour the three… no, four of them.
”Sh*t, no time! Ming Fan, quickly take them and run. I'll try to lure them away from here.” Chu Sheng picked up the blade not far from his feet. It was Long Yu's first blade, which had fallen off the zombie's forehead during the battle.
”Do you think I can carry that guy with my physique? You go, I'll distract them instead!” Although Ming Fan's legs were shaking from fear, he had resolved himself to save the girl.
He ran and picked up the other blade beside Long Yu's foot, and readied himself.
Just when Chu Sheng and Ming Fan were prepared to face the zombie group in front of them, they heard a cold voice behind them.
