Chapter 394 - Impending Doom (1/2)
Jagger shrieked in delight. ”Yesss! Thank you again, brother. You made me so happy today!”
Roden sighed. He stood up and faced the wall of the bed chamber. He recited and incantation in an audible voice...suddenly...a wooden door materialize from the wall that was never there before. ”You go inside and rest for a while, I will bring your dinner later...” he said.
Jagger picked up his meager belongings which consists of the bundle and the bottle and went inside the secret door. ”Brother...human foods for me...I prefer a roast meat and rice if it's available if there is none then anything would suffice,” he said before the door was closed on his face.
Roden recited a magic spell preventing the door from being opened from the inside and outside, only him has the sole authority and power to open it.
He was facing back bad forth inside his bedchamber, pondering of his decision.
Tonight before he will close his eyes to sleep, he needs to decide quickly what will be his best recourse...If he will help his brother all the way...sooner or later he will be facing the King and his men and it's going to be a bloody war unless he will be successful in concealing the Crossbred's scent and also their hideout.
Still that is a 50/50 chance.
Scratching his beard in total distress, Roden keep sighing, within the next thirty minutes he goes on contemplating what to do next.
He needs to weight down his decision not only for the sake of his family but also the remaining savage vampire clan under his wing.
Roden exited the bed chamber to find his wife and children, then he will visit the kitchen later where humans used to prepare their own foods.
...
Back inside the secret room.
Jagger was lying in the wooden bed, staring happily at Jessy's sleeping form inside the bottle which he placed above his stomach.
”Finally, you are going to be mine, Jess!” he whispered.
He looked around the room which is very much bare, the only furniture inside was the wooden bed and small table. It's good enough for two people. He would be contented living in this room with Jessy for the mean time.
In his mind, he was already planning their traditional wedding which will be officiated by his brother, Roden, the leader of their clan.
He would ask his brother that after he erased Jessy's memory, he wants the wedding to take place the next day. He just want a simple wedding and his brother's blessing on his marriage with Jessy, that's enough for him.
He can't wait to start living a blissful married life with the woman he loves. He placed the bottle in the wooden table and shut his eyes, in resting mode.
...
A few hours later.
Night time.
Roden, entered the kitchen of the humans living quarters guarded by savage vampire guards, three women were preparing human foods in the makeshift kitchen.
Although it was against his will, he resort to abducting humans about one hundred of them to become their permanent blood source just to continue living day after day. He made makeshift rooms housing four person each. He separated the men's living quarters from the women. They have their own toilet. He allowed the men and women to take a bath in the stream nearby once every two days accompanied by the guards. He made the life of every human being captive a bit bearable and treat them as humanely as possible without hurting them physically since they are their blood donors.
If only his father and his men didn't kill humans in a cruel way, the anti-vampire vaccine would have not been created. Gone are the days that they can sucked blood on their unsuspecting victims freely anytime of the night by visiting their houses silently while they were sleeping, then just leave quietly after getting their fill without killing anyone.
Roden admitted to himself that his father and his men went beyond the limit and killed humans savagely, thus resulting to the mortals' creating the anti-vampire vaccine to protect themselves.
It was total chaos back then...
War with the King and his men...
