Chapter 330 - Proud Of What You Become (1/2)

Inside the clinic.

Jessy has not been into the treehouse for three days. How is Jagger doing right now? Today is his 6th day....and tomorrow he will be completely out of the observation period and ultimately become a mortal.

After 7th day, she no longer has to think about him that much, after all, she already had done her best to help his transition smooth and pleasant as possible.

Tonight or tomorrow, she might visit Jagger in the treehouse depending on her availability.

For now, her immediate concern is asking her father's permission so that she can bring her mother to the city.

Two hours later.

The doctor was done removing the needle from her arm. ”See you later, Jess,” he said.

”See you...Doc!” Jessy responded and exited the clinic.

She went to the core of the Facility to find her father. She found him lounging in the benches on the holding area of the mining site together with other vampires, they seemed to be having their break time as well.

This is a good opportunity to talk to him. His father was waving his hand when he spotted her presence on the door.

She sauntered towards her father's side like rays of sunshine.

”Hi Dad!” she greeted her with a full smile.

Hector brought his daughter inside his small office for privacy. He smiled fondly at his daughter. ”What is this visit for, my daughter? You need something from me?”

Jessy smiled shaking her head. ”Nothing serious, Dad. I just want to thank you for this—!” she held her wrist up for her father to see the golden bracelet.

”It's a nice piece of jewelry. You like it?” he said.

”Yes, of course! Thank you for the second golden pouch you gave me, Dad!” she beamed.

”No need to thank me, child. You deserve the golden nuggets. So...you want to take a tour with me inside the tunnels?”

”Hmm...not really. I mean not now, Dad, some other time maybe?” she said politely.

”So—what can I do for you this time?” Hector asked.

”I'm here...because...I want to ask your permission...I would like to bond with mother outside the Facility...” she said breathlessly.

”Huh?” Hector's brows drew together.

”Mother and I have a conversation yesterday while we were having our meals in the canteen, and it saddened me to know that she hadn't set foot outside the Facility for many years. I think it's a good idea if Mom and I can go out together...it would be refreshing for her to experience how it feels to be out in the open again...a breath of fresh air...if I may add,” she said feeling optimistic.
