Chapter 323 - The End Justifies The Cause (1/2)
Lying in her bed inside her room, Jessy's mind was troubled, she was upset, she kept remembering what happened to Leo. It would be an understatement if she pretended that she was not bothered by Leo's death. At some point, she blamed herself for not bringing him to the police station right away after she brought him home.
God, how many mistakes she had made today? Leo was dead, and two boys are going to jail because she failed to follow the queen's advice, if only she followed her order, Leo would still be alive in jail and serving his sentence paying for his crimes and the two boys would not become a murderer...
Her harmless intention to allow Leo to settle into his normal life for just a mere five days, cost Leo's life and the two boys' bright future were put in jeopardy because of her seemingly innocent decision, it pained her a lot, dammit! how can she made a big mistake!?
She can't sleep...she's been feeling restless in her bed...closing her eyes won't bring her the sleep that she was craving for. Her mind was bothered by the turn of events, she wasn't expecting a tragic end after she sent Leo home.
She rose to her feet and entered the bathroom and splashed water on her face. She was tempted to take a quick shower to freshen herself and hoping the soothing essence of water can help clear her mind and give her a sense of calmness.
She discarded her clothes and let the water from the shower cascaded on her head down to her body.
After fifteen minutes under the shower, her troubled mind cooled a bit. She changed into her pajama.
Time to get out of the bathroom and retire for the night.
When she exited the bathroom she was greeted with the sight of Adam, lying in her bed, smiling at her.
”Aw, you come!” she shrieked in delight, she jumped right into the bed falling into Adam's waiting arms. ”I miss you!”
”I miss you too! That's why I'm here because I know you visited the condo earlier,” he said.
Jessy raised her brows. ”Huh? How did you know?” she asked.
”Because my dear, you forgot to turn off the lights!” he said.
She laughed aloud. ”Yeah, I had forgotten to turn the lights off!”
”You won't make a good thief, instead you're a lousy one,” he said jokingly and pinched her nose playfully.
She grinned. ”I'm glad you're here. I can't sleep!” she grumbled.
