Chapter 297 Milestone Celebration (1/2)
After a few hours, Jessy went back to the men's living quarters to collect the index card containing their information.
She entered the room after knocking five times.
”I'm back, guys! Please hand me the index card,” she said.
One of the men gathered all the index cards and handed it to Jessy.
Jessy sat down on one of the vacant bed. ”Peeps, listen up, I will make a roll call so that I will know who is who...” she spoke.
She starts calling names. ”Ben...”
”That's me!” The guy in the gray t-shirt responded.
”Samuel...”
”I'm here!” said the guy that wore a brown sweatshirt.
”Teddy...”
”Present Ma'am!” the guy in the white t-shirt spoke.
She read the last name on the index card. ”Leo...”
”That's my name!” the guy in black sleeveless shirt responded.
Jessy cut into four the one piece of an index card that she was holding and wrote numbers on them from one to four. Then she rolled the piece of papers one by one and then began shaking them inside her hands, then she opened her palm. ”Okay, guys, hear me out first...there are four pieces of paper in my palm pick only one, those who will pick the number one shall go home first,” she explained.
One by one the men picked up their numbers excitedly.
”Alright, open up your numbers...let see who got the number#1,” she instructed.
”Hooray, It's me!” a bright smile appeared on Leo's face, he handed his number to Jessy.
Jessy wrote #1 on Leo's index card. ”Who got the 2nd number?”
”Me!” a smiling Teddy placed his number on the bed near Jessy.
”How about the 3rd number?” she asked.
”I'm the third person to go home!” Samuel stepped forward to show Jessy his number.
Jessy looked at Ben, the last person on the list.
Ben smiled and showed his number. ”Well...I guess...I'm the last man standing in this room after you all go home,” he said. ”Can I keep this number as my souvenir, Ma'am?” he asked.
Jessy smiled back at him. ”Okay, you can keep it,” she granted his request.
The rest of the men took their numbers back, they decided to keep the numbers as their souvenirs to remind them of this place.
”Guys...the first to go home is Leo...followed by Teddy...then next is Samuel... and last but not the least is Ben...” Jessy said aloud. ”Leo, please get ready by next week you are scheduled to go home. I will visit you here one day before your departure,” she added.
Leo stood up. ”Excuse me, Ma'am, do we have to ride a plane, ship or bus for me to go home?” he inquired feeling excited.
