Chapter 279 Going Bonkers! (1/2)
Inside the canteen. Jessy and her mother were having breakfast.
”I'm sorry, Mom, I was not able to buy your ice cream and nachos last night,” Jessy said.
”And why is that?” Sarah asked, not feeling upset at all. ”Something went wrong?”
”Well, when I visit Virgie and her family in the city, I witnessed a murder about to happen...”
”Huh? What do you mean?” Sarah frowned.
”Virgie, her ex-husband, and her parents were about to be murdered last night. I happened to arrive on time so I was able to prevent the entire murder of the whole family. I have my theory of what took place in that house, it goes like this... that new woman of Virgie's ex-husband was angry that her illicit affair with another man was discovered by Peter, so she was kicked out by the house owned by Peter and when Virgie and her entire family were back in the house she got angry and become a murderous woman! She and her accomplice wants to kill the entire family and burn down the house afterward—so I brought the murderers in the ocean and—”
Jessy looked the other way, then whispered something in her mother's ears. ”I killed them, I sealed their mouth and nose so that they can't breathe and they died in the sea gasping for air...”
If Sarah was shocked, her expression was blank. After a while, she stared into her daughter's eyes. ”W-why didn't you let the police deal with them?”
”B-because, when a person has an intent to kill and being thwarted, there is a big chance that after they got out of prison they will keep hunting their victims, I already prevented their first try, in the second try I might not be there to prevent it so why not be done with them once and for all and completely erased them from the face of the earth? It's much easier that way...” Jessy tried to defend her action.
Sarah sighed. ”You're getting used to killing, my child. Do you think killing them is the best solution? Have you not heard of the saying that says...everyone deserves a second chance?”
Jessy blinked her eyes, breathed deeply, readying herself for a long debate with her mother. ”Yeah...everyone can be given a second chance but when it comes to planning and instigating a murder, the law should never be lenient with the murderers. Killing should only be allowed if it is done for self-defense and to save innocent lives, but if you kill just because you are angry and jealous then it's not acceptable at all. That woman could have walked away, start a new life and make her self better without hurting anyone, but because of her uncontrollable rage, she brought death upon herself. She was not the innocent party here, she signed her death sentence. When I delivered justice it is swift and decisive because I think it's the right decision to be made during that time based on the circumstances...I acted in impulse!”
Sarah watched her daughter's face and become quite for a long time.
Jessy raised her brows. ”Are you okay—Mom?” she was a bit bothered by her silence. ”Is your silence your way of telling me that I'm wrong with my decision regarding last night's incident?”
Sarah released a deep sigh. ”Child, you have to understand that no parent in their right mind would be happy to know that their daughter was killing people...” when Sarah saw that her daughter's face was gone sour she soften her words... ”In the name of justice, but your case is different...”
”So...you didn't condemn me for killing them last night?”
”No!” Sarah nodded her head. ”But hopefully next time you will let the cops deal with them...”
Jessy shrugged her shoulders. ”As usual... they will be thrown in jail and become another heavy burden on the taxpayers' pocket? No thanks!” she said defiantly.
Sarah was shaking her head. ”If you keep killing people to justify your kind of justice...so what is the difference between you and the murderers?”
”Excuse me, Mom, I killed for the right reason but the murderers kill for the wrong reason, that is the big difference between them and me...” Jessy blurted straight to the point.
