Chapter 266 Birthday Gif (1/2)
While lying in the bed inside the clinic, Jessy was holding the index card of Lilian the next woman to go home for this week. The address was written on the card. It's in the southern part of the city, her home address was in Pine Wood Subdivision, B-20, L-10.
She will have two hours break in a little while, time to hit the city again to check the address. Part of her responsibility since she rescued the mortals from their captivity was the need to make sure that when they return to their family, the place they go home to is safe and habitable, it's no use bringing them back to a home that is empty and toxic, it would defeat the purpose of saving them in the first place.
After two hours.
Jessy teleported into the city in her invisible form.
Hovering up in the air, it only takes her twenty minutes to find the said subdivision. The house bearing the B-20 and L-10 address was a modest two-story house. There was a car in the open garage, a manicured lawn can be seen inside the see-through iron gate. It was a decent house with a cute and homey appearance.
She hovered above the iron gate and entered the open door.
She steps into the living room, an old woman was sitting in the wheelchair, then and an old man was sitting on the sofa, they were watching television together.
In the nearby kitchen, a middle-aged woman was slicing an apple on the chopping board then after a few minutes, the woman took out a mug from the plastic dish drainer and scooped three-tablespoon powder milk into the mug and poured hot water on it.
She brought the platter of sliced apple and the mug of milk into the living room and placed them on the center table within the old folks reach.
”We will be celebrating Lilian's 25th birthday tomorrow, I already ordered a cake and I will be cooking her favorite dishes tomorrow evening,” the middle-aged woman spoke.
Grandma and Grandpa were staring at each other, their faces were tainted with extreme sadness.
Grandpa released a deep sigh. ”I pray to God that we will see our granddaughter very soon. We will just keep believing and praying to God that she's still alive somewhere out there.”
”God, I missed my eldest daughter so much! She's been missing for two years already,” the woman who looks like Lilian was already crying.
A middle-aged man comes down from the stairs wearing corporate attire. He walked into the living room and planted a kiss on his wife and his parent's forehead. ”I'll be going back to the office...” he said and left the living room heading towards the garage.
Jessy saw the car getting out of the driveway. She shifted her attention towards the three people in the living room and listened to their conversation.
”We have kept the ad running for two years already in the missing person's corner in the leading newspaper, yet until now no one can give up a tip of Lilian's whereabouts. I'm losing my mind thinking about what happened to my precious girl in these past two years. Her absence in our lives is killing me!” the mother said whimpering.
Grandma rubbed her daughter-in-law's back. ”I honestly believe that my granddaughter is still alive. I never doubted it. Tomorrow is her birthday, if she can't come back to us, there's still another day and another week and months, we will patiently wait for her return, we just can't give up on her.”
Grandpa was holding a newspaper dated two years ago, they start posting the missing person ad on the national newspaper one month after Lilian disappeared without a trace.
