Chapter 206 Join Us! (2/2)
”Okay,” she mumbled closing her eyes luxuriating in Adam's embrace.
One hour later.
They were fully rested. They rose from the bed and ventured outside the room looking for Caden, he is not around, not in the living room either.
Adam knows where his friend would be at this time—in the pool surrounded by his lady friends. They went to the terrace, and they saw Caden frolicking in the pool accompanied by a bevy of beauties.
”As I suspected,” Adam said smiling. ”Let's teleport now into the heart of the city,” he said.
”No. Let's not use our powers this time—I want to ride a taxi or go walking instead,” she insisted.
Adam smiled...”Okay, as you wish, let's go now and paint the city red,” he joked.
They exited the condo unit and went down to the ground floor, from there they boarded a taxi telling the driver to take them to the busy business district of the city.
After thirty minutes of travel.
They arrived at the bustling city proper, people were milling around the streets, walking, entering and exiting the high-end stores selling expensive goods—those types of stores were sprouting everywhere.
Adam looked at his girlfriend. ”You want to shop for clothes? Let's enter one of the stores here,” he suggested.
Jessy shook her head. ”Nah. I don't like buying clothes today—I just want to walk in the street holding your arms enjoying your company,” she said smiling at him.
”Aww, I love you Jess!” he planted a quick kiss on her forehead.
”I love you too!” she responded sweetly.
They walked in a relaxing manner, blending in the crowd, letting the people passed them by in the busy streets.
Then out of the corner of their eyes, they saw a familiar face, it's the homeless Grandpa long time ago! He was bending down on the cold cement floor his hands rummaging at the garbage can in front of the restaurant.
”That's grandpa, right!?” Adam said.
”Yes, poor grandpa!” Jessy murmured. ”Let's say hi,” she steered Adam towards the old man.
”Ok,” Adam said.
When they are already in front of the old man, Jessy greeted him. ”Hello Grandpa, remember us?”
The old man stared at the couple's faces for a few minutes, then his face broke into a wide smile. ”Ah, yes, the lovely couple, it's been a long time, how are you doing, kids?” of course he remembered them because the whole time he was living in the street only a few people managed to show him genuine kindness and this couple was one of them.
”Were just walking around the area, Grandpa. Would you like to join us? We would like to buy you a nice meal,” Adam offered.
The old man looked teary-eyed at the couple. ”Really? You would do that—for me? I looked so dirty all over, I am ashamed to share a meal with you in the restaurant, people might stare at us, you will feel uncomfortable with my dirty appearance,” he said hesitating to accept their offer, but he really wanted to eat in a restaurant because it's his birthday today and he hasn't had a decent meal for a long time and his stomach is grumbling again. It's a rare opportunity to meet generous people nowadays.
”Come with us, Grandpa, we want to treat you in a restaurant over there,” Jessy persisted, she pointed at a nice restaurant a few blocks ahead of them.
