474 Repeated upgrades (2/2)

As for the dark-gold grade accessory, the trio could only shake their heads and smile wryly. No matter what, they couldn’t blame Sheyan’s ill luck in picking. Besides, an accessory was the rarest equipment type, second to none. Drawing an accessory could be described as immense fortune already. However, this dark-gold grade accessory was exceedingly prejudiced to other classes; no doubt, it was confined to contestants who treaded the path of a summoner.

This sort of prejudice was analogous to authors who wrote data genre novels. Writing a little too in detailed, and one would be berated with leaving a tasteless message. Even if one delivers a quality product, one could only raise his head to heavens and sigh deeply.

But regardless, selling off this dark-gold grade accessory was absolutely impossible. As the saying goes, a merchant recognizes value. In actual fact, if they could encounter a powerful customer like Fanu of the Symbiosis sect in the future, this accessory may possibly fetch a sky-high price.

Thus, Sheyan handed this object to Jinkuang, tasking him to protect it even in death. This policy was akin to stalling current profits for the chance of reaping greater profits in the future, not acting until they could see tangible incentives. He was afraid that by keeping it tightly in his grip, he may not be able to sink into the ‘slut’ level, and sell of this object at exorbitant rates!

Following this, they segregated to accomplish their own affairs, not much needed to be said about that. The following tasks were basically, the more significant ones:

Firstly, the additional attributes gained from upgrading his hand-darts to the Silver-storyline grade, had offered Reef a pleasant surprise. Not only did the attacking range of thehand-darts increased, its accuracy had been substantially raised. What made his eyes ablaze with passion, was shockingly one factor – [ Upon hurling the dart and dealing persisting damage to the opponent, 50% of resultant persisting damages will be transferred to heal the dart user ]!!!

(TN: Hand-dart attributes can be found in chapter 69 of vol 7)

When that property surfaced; if the ‘Birmingham ‘Stuka’ Hand-darts Pocket Sling’ was considered an invaluable stage prop, then it instantly scaled to an indispensible premium good! Reef immediately went on to upgrade his ‘Basic long range combat’ to lvl 4, allowing him to select a bonus of +10% long range damages when it reached lvl 4. In addition to the dark-blue grade ring* he wore, his ‘Basic long range combat’ was raised to lvl 6, and could at least, deal additional 40% of damages when hurling out his hand-darts!

(TN:*Reef got this after killing the legendary creature, Betami Ghost-ape, back in chapter 90 of vol 7 (avatar world).)

After combat testing, every dart he throw out could supply him a persisting stream of nearly 60 HP! Moreover, though the pocket sling only contained 4 darts; but after upgrading to a silver storyline grade, its dart replenishment rate had soared to 30 seconds/dart.

This implied that Reef’s survival capability was improved once again! Moreover, the longer he could drag on in battle, the more advantageous it was to him!

Bursting with joy, Reef then tossed all his remaining utility points and potential points into the party shared storage. Then, he immediately headed off to train his ‘Basic long range combat’.

Next up, was Sheyan who had successfully upgraded his ‘Barbaric-demon Pupil’. After infusing the ‘Sturmbeest Horcrux’ with it, though he didn’t experience a lucky stroke like Reef, its upgraded abilities was still relatively impressive:

[ Ring: Barbaric-Demon Pupil ]

[ Equipment rarity: Silver storyline grade ]

[ Details: Strength +3 ]

[ Details: Spirit -2 (originally -4), ‘Basic long range combat’ -1 (User doesn’t possess this ability, hence effect is void) ]

[ Equipment passive ability: Soul Irradiate – When attacking an opponent, this pupil would occasionally strip off a fragment of the enemy’s soul, dealing a 15 (originally 10) points damage that neglects defence. ]

[ Equipment ability: Horn-rage – Within a distance of 10 - 40 (originally 8 - 35) metres, inciting a fanatical charge towards the enemy. Enemy will be stunned for 3 seconds, dealing damages of the total value of strength and physique. During the charge, your movement speed will assume the extreme limits of the word’s difficulty, immuned to all speed reduction effects. ]

[ Only when your strength exceeds the target (originally much reach crushing damages threshold), can you maintain a 100% accuracy rate of ‘Horn-rage’. If your strength is lesser, this ability will subsequently decline linearly. ]

[ Regardless of hitting your target or not, you will be stunned up to 0-3 seconds after ‘Horn-rage’ concludes. (Duration of stun is determined by strength, the higher the strength, the shorter the stunned duration; strength exceeding 50 points results in 0 seconds). Cooldown of 240 seconds (Increased from 180 seconds). ]

While awaiting his ‘Barbaric-demon pupil’ and the horcrux to merge, Sheyan managed to purchase a dark-blue grade scroll – Advanced ability ‘Saber Fluency lvl 4’. The prerequisites of learning this ability scroll, was strength and agility 20 points, while ‘Basic close combat’ reaching lvl 4.

Sheyan already fulfilled the learning requisites. When his advanced ability ‘Saber Fluency’ attained lvl 4, its killing potential was rather astonishing; dawning an ordinary stability, but issuing a quality that could overcome all obstacles. When Sheyan tested his strength inside the training area, the might of using that long saber had scaled by 20%.

When his ‘Basic close combat’ had reached lvl 7, he then received a random bonus property draw; where he chose the option of increasing 10% in close combat damage.

In actual fact, Sheyan didn’t want that lvl 7 bonus option, and was even thinking of relinquishing a level so that he could once again pay to scale it back to lvl 7; in hopes that the rare property ‘Disarm’ would appear. After promoting to First Lieutenant, he had gained access to view the possible random rare properties for such a category.

That property provided a 50% chance of disarming the opponent’s weapon for 15 seconds, while resisting or avoiding an attack. If the opponent didn’t possess a weapon, next would be to disarm the armour. If it was a creature like Ocean-freak Moria who didn’t possess an armour, then it would lower the opponent’s defence by 10% instead. It was extremely impressive.

However, Sheyan remembered distinctly that in the Avatar world, Mogensha had sacrificed a massive load of pandora crystals without complaints. Furthermore, he even conferred his choice of reward to Sheyan, without wishing for anything in return. Right now, even activating the Ruby card had offered him no benefits.

Due to Mogensha’s silent generosity, as the head, Sheyan vowed to supply capital to satisfy the wishes of his frugal subordinate....as the saying goes, one for all, all for one. The way of the King could only be established if all individuals were to improve together.
