As soon as she said this, Madam Huo’s eyes turned red. Even the man beside her, Xing Jiuan’s father, had his fingers trembling slightly as his eyes filled with bitterness.

The two brothers behind her didn’t seem to know what to say. They were clearly tall, but they seemed to be dispirited and sad. They could only look at her without saying a word.

“…Can we go in and have a seat?” her father finally asked. The current head of the Huo family had never spoken so humbly before.

“It’s not convenient.”

It was indeed inconvenient. It was very inconvenient for three strange men to suddenly enter the home of a single girl.

“Jiuan, can I go in with you?” Madam Huo asked softly. Her eyes were red and watery.

It seemed like she really loved this child who had been separated from them for nineteen years.

Her voice was overly gentle.

Xing Jiuan did not agree to that either. She stood at the door. In front of her was her biological family, and behind her was her own little home.

“I’m sorry.” Xing Jiuan’s voice was light. “I still have something on. Please leave.”

With that, she closed the door.

Xing Jiuan had always been someone who refused to be disciplined, yet in the past, she did not know why she’d remained with them the entire time she was being bullied by the Huo family. It was as if she had gone mad and just wanted to have a family.

However, more than two years was enough for her to think things through. Or rather, after dying once, she had become indifferent to everything.

The Huo family members stared at the tightly shut door in front of them, a little taken aback.

Xing Jiuan’s house was very small. It had two rooms and a living room, making up about a hundred square meters. There were a couple of sofas in the living room, and one of them was very big. Xing Jiuan would often lie there with a small blanket and fall asleep while watching television.

Her house was very clean. There was not much furniture and not much stuff. It was as simple as a hotel. There was not even a plush toy or any decorations. It did not have much of a personality and was not warm and comforting.
