Chapter 7 - Night Assault

In the darkness, Xiao Jin suddenly opened his eyes and stood up. The moment he moved, all the Jinyi Wei s stood up.

Xiao Jin glanced at Wei Ruo Yi who was sleeping soundly at the door, and then asked softly, ”Did they add anything in the water?”

”Yes sir, I did.” One of the Jinyi Wei cupped his fists and said, ”He won't wake up for a while.”

”Very good, you two protect them. Don't let anything happen to them.” Xiao Jin said to the two Jinyi Wei s by his side.

”Yes.” The two of them walked to Wei Ruo Yi's side and stood there like two standard poles.

Xiao Jin made a sound as the eight guards from the Wei Residence, who were following beside him, also woke up from their stupor and looked at Xiao Jin in confusion.

”Protect your master well. There will be a fierce battle in the future.” Xiao Jin instructed indifferently.

When the guards of the General Wei Palace heard this, they immediately gathered around Wei Ruo Yi and nervously looked outside the run-down temple.

Xiao Jin arranged for the prisoners in the carriage to be moved to the side to hide. He also ordered a portion of Jinyi Wei s to change into prisoner clothes and enter the carriage.

When everything was settled, everyone sat down to take a nap.

The rain continued to fall, and not even the sounds of the animals could be heard. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of the rain dripping onto the ground.

Xiao Jin raised his eyes and looked at the sleeping Wei Ruo Yi. She was wrapped up in a circle of soft cushions, and without her usual flamboyance, she appeared to be extremely quiet and obedient.
