Chapter 24 - The Cunning Father-in-law! (1/2)

Lisa saw interaction between the father and son and frowned. Why did it seem like this was the outcome Mr. Ahmed always wanted?

Sure enough. Mr. Ahmed curled up his lips as if he was really amused. Lisa shuddered. This old fox was really cunning.

He said, ”this is not the first time you said something like this? How do we know that you are not procrastinating? ”

Ruhan became speechless. Couldn't you have at least little faith in your son?

Mrs. Ahmed couldn't see her son being humiliated like this. She gave a forced smile and excused herself. Grandmother followed her too. Ruhan gave her a pitiful look. But she shrugged helplessly. She really could not interfere in her husband's business. Specially when it came to disciplining this son. He had already blamed her for spoiling him too much.

Mr. Ahmed saw the mother-son pair communicating secretly but pretended not to see.

There was no point in looking at his mother. He was not someone who can be swayed by pillow talk. Huh!

Mr. Ahmed glanced at Ruhan and gave an easygoing smile, ”since you challenged me, how about we make it interesting? We will divide half of these properties between you and Lisa.

And see the result in six months. The winner gets to keep them all.

Since you are so confident, you shouldn't have any problem in this arrangement. Should you?”

”I don't think this is a good idea”, Lisa protested.

Are you crazy? Why would she work for Ruhan's properties? Her plate is already full ok? She had been busy at managing her shell company in Chittagong as well as reviving old LiCorp. She didn't have any time to work on any other business.

Moreover, after marrying into Ahmed family, she wanted to enter into the main office slowly to benefit from their connections. She had a lot of things in her plate ok? She didn't want to play any childish game with them.

Ruhan seemed to be waiting for Lisa to say something like this. He spoke hurriedly, ” Yes. This is not necessary at all! See Dad..she doesn't crave for my properties. Let's end this discussion here”.

Mr. Ahmed looked at them as if he was looking at jumping monkeys.

”It seems that you have forgotten who is the decision maker of this house”, he said coldly as he glanced at both of them, ”If you want to make your own decision then contribute to the expenses of this house same as me. Otherwise, all your dissatisfaction will be treated as fart.”

He then glanced at Lisa and said, ”When you decided to elope with Ruhan, you should have been mentally prepared to shoulder his burden as well. Everyone commended you for managing LiCorp well. Now show us your ability. ”

Lisa was tongue tied. Shoulder his burden? That was something she never included in her plan. She wanted to protest but didn't dare to do so.

Suddenly she thought of something and ask Mr. Ahmed, ”Then what about the profits?”

Mr. Ahmed raised his eyebrows, ”What profit?”

”The profits we will make while competing each other? Will the winner keep them as well?” Lisa looked as if she was really wronged. She would have to work hard for six months and the profit would be enjoyed by someone else..this she can not tolerate.

Ruhan looked at her with disdain. He had never seen such a greedy and shameless girl. These properties did not belong to her to begin with. Yet she was thinking about snatching the profits!

Mr. Ahmed curled up his lips. 'Looks like my daughter in law is a businesswoman to the bones!'

He was really amused.
