21 Grief and Hate (1/2)

Leo was patiently waiting for help.

'It's been 30 minutes already. Where the hell are they?!'

Time was running out and the help was still nowhere to be seen.

'Did she lie to me? I need to call her again.”

Leo opened the trashcan and fished out the phone.

The phone was on and there weren't any problems with it. The signal meter was full, meaning that they had to know his location.

He dialed the number once again and patiently waited.

”The number you have dialed is unavailable, please try again later.”

He clutched the phone in his hand in anger ”That bitch!”

'Looks like help isn't coming. That's bad. I need to tell dad to leave.' he thought before running back.

Izuku was happily skipping on his way home. He certainly didn't care that other people gave him weird looks.

'I met All Might, I know his secret and I got his autographs on everything I could think of, what an amazing day.'

After walking for a while, he entered what used to be a highly populated area, but now it looked like a haunted town.

”That's weird, aren't there usually more people at this hour? Why is no one here?” Izuku mumbled.

As he walked on, he saw multiple destroyed cars and buildings.

'What happened here? Was it that slime villain? Could he really create such destructive power? Now that I think about it, All Might went after him.'

Izuku was about to call All Might on his phone, when he heard a high pitched scream.

”That Bitch!”

Someone is here. Izuku followed the scream and saw a teenager desperately running after something.

'Isn't that guy from my old class? He invited me to that laser show a few hours ago. What was his name again.. Lew, Lau?' Izuku tilted his head to try and remember the guy's name but to no avail.

'Let's go after him, maybe he knows something.'

He decided to follow him, he picked up his pace and ran after him.

There it is. I am finally back.

Completely exhausted and out of breath, Leo managed to get back into the alley where his dad fought the monster, and there he saw it. His father's mutilated dead body lying on the ground.

One gasp, then a heave. Leo's whole body was uncontrollably shaking as he fought for a breath. Drops of tears fell on the ground one by one, and Leo's mind was in chaos.

'No.. I was too late..'

Leo then dropped to his knees and slowly put his hands around his father's corpse and hugged him.

He hated himself for being so weak, but his hatred only grew once he thought of that woman.

'If.. If she sent help... He would be still alive. Heroes? Is this how heroes behave? No. I see what I need to do now. I need to kill them.. The fake heroes.”

Leo thought about his future as he sat down and wept.

'I need money and power to make it work. Where... Where should I start?'

Izuku arrived at the place to see his motionless classmate on the ground.

He took a better look and saw a disfigured man in his hands.

'Damn it, is that his father?'

”Hey. Are you hurt anywhere?”

Izuku tried to establish contact with him, but the boy was like a deaf person or like an alien.

He didn't turn around or did anything. He simply sat there while doing nothing.

Leo was nowhere near comfort. He didn't hear anything, he didn't see anything.

He was senseless in his own senseless world.

Izuku came closer to Leo and put his hand on his shoulder.
