”... One Whisper of Fate Phenomenon indicates that their physique is in the Mortal Grade and successfully crossing it means that their physique has reached the Earth Grade... In the same way, crossing the second Whisper of Fate Phenomenon indicates that their physique has reached Sky Grade and so on and so forth until their Karmic Guardian Physique reaches Emperor Grade, where the host must have successfully crossed their fourth Whisper of Fate Phenomenon...”
”... Finally, when they experience the fifth Whisper of Fate Phenomenon and successfully cross it, they do not experience any increase in their grade, but their physique becomes awakened...”
”I see...” Davis uttered a word of comprehension.
Awakened... This was the word he had been looking for when he had earlier concluded that the Whisper of Fate Phenomenon was preparing Tia for something.
Edgar Alstreim told him that Tia was experiencing her fourth Whisper of Fate Phenomenon, but whether it was crossed or not remained something he didn't know unless he asked. Just when he thought that Aurelius had finished speaking, he continued.
”... When awakened, the Karmic Guardian Physique brings down heavenly tribulation upon the host...”
”!!!”
Aurelius's voice was indifferent as ever, but it made Davis feel a deep chill down his soul.
'H-Heavenly tribulation...!?'
'Is that why Tia dies in less than eight years!?'
Davis became utterly dumbfounded before he felt a deep chill again.
It now all made sense to him!
The moment she experienced her fifth Whisper of Fate Phenomenon and crossed it with his or someone else's help, would she encounter a heavenly tribulation!
Before he could ask anything, Aurelius continued.
”... It is said that if the host of the Karmic Guardian Physique survives, their talent in Karma Laws will bloom, and their path to becoming a Mystic Diviner is certain as long as they don't die halfway.”
”Is there anyone who survived it...?” Davis blinked as his expression trembled.
”... It is said that the Sect Leader of the Heaven Gazing Sect possesses Peak-Level Emperor Grade Karmic Guardian Physique, along with two more Grand Elders who respectively have High-Level Emperor Grade Karmic Guardian Physiques...”
Davis bitterly chuckled as he heard it.
Presumably, if Tia joins the Heaven Gazing Sect, she would either be given the most care in the entire sect or killed to make sure that she doesn't infringe upon certain people's benefits. However, would the Heaven Gazing Sect go too far?
Davis can never know as people are sometimes truly unfathomable, hiding their real faces unless they encounter something that can flip their life upside down. For example, Tia's presence in the Heaven Gazing Sect would disrupt many people's path to the top, and one perfect example of such a person stood in front of him, Aurelius, who only barred his claws after a misunderstanding that Tina Roxley had the Fate Discarnate Soul that could take him to the apex!
”Do they experience the Whisper of Fate Phenomenon anymore after they have awakened their Karmic Guardian Physique?”
”... Yes.”
”How does it differ from the previous Whisper of Fate Phenomenon, or is it the same? Does the Physique still improve after it awakens?” Davis asked three questions while he looked a bit agitated.
”... Yes, it is said to be the same. However, it does not improve the physique anymore as unique resources that relate to Karma Laws are required...”
”What kind of resources!?”
”... I don't know.”
Davis looked like he had been splashed by a cold bucket of water right on his face from Aurelius's answer that he was jolted out of his agitated emotions.
