34 34. The Summoning (1/2)

Shani's POV

I was back at Maven's for a day of summoning demons back to hell. I sighed as I feel the need to get the whole thing over and done with.

”My queen, I've located several and master Rain had discovered the rest...”

I looked up at Maven then scanned the surrounding, and yelp when I saw Rain standing with his book smiling at me.

”Oh my God I've missed you so fucking much!!” I hugged him as he lifts me up and squeeze me with his all, his eyes switch as his wolf greeted me. I grinned after kissing his cheek and ruffled his hair.

”Okay...what did I tell you about my hair.” He chuckled then let me get back down to my feet.

”Awww... welcome back and I missed you wolfie!” I hugged him one more time before Maven cleared his throat, to remind us that he was present.

”Okay six more demons, let's do this!” I was back to my serious side, and nodded to the demon sorcerer.

I started gathering the incense and the herbs, while Rain was making the sacred circle. Maven was already chanting burning the incense and circling our summoning area.

Hours later we were down to the last two demon. We were taking a break and gathering more ingredients for the ritual.

”You looked beat Shani, why don't we continue this tomorrow?”

I was actually exhausted and Rain had know me, he probably knows me too damn well.

”No...I really want to finish this. I'm done with my elders, I want my leverage. And what Ranulf said was absolutely right. If I get this done, they won't mess with me.”

I was truly tired, but Maven kept on pumping me with his energy and I kept on refueling my power.

”I can do this, I've been doing this for days since you've been cuddling with that king of yours.” I smirked at him while he blushed red, starting from his neck then to his ears before it reaches his cheeks.

”Aww...Rain you are one adorable were. I love you. Now, let's get the last two demons back to hell so I can get back home.”

”My queen, we are ready...”

Maven let me into the circle, while Rain was looking at me, watching me then  looking at Maven's direction from time to time.

”Maven, don't you think we should wait till tomorrow?”

”Master Rain, it is the queen's wishes and I'm only here to assist and facilitate.”

I could hear that Rain was about to argue some more, so I start to voice the spell. Then the mists slowly appeared and the surrounding turns eerily silent, it got thicker when I chant my spell louder. Then I started burning more incense, and scatter the dead man's ashes to lure the demon to my circle.

Moments later it finally arrived, he enter the circle and tried to grab me. But I was under a very powerful protection spell from Maven. It growled and tried to claw me several times, until Maven put his shackles that magically bound him still.

”Damn Shani, you really got some guts.”

He draped his arm to my shoulder, as I get myself out of the circle and sit down while waiting for Maven.

”I don't know how you're going to get the last one, you look really tired”

”I'll get it done Rain...” I sighed and rest my back to him, smiling.

”Tell me...how are you and Ranulf?”

”He's doing better, my wolf has start to ease up on him. Though I think its more than that.” He whispered as he pulled me closer into his arms, and I took comfort in him.

Moments later, Maven had finally placed the demon back under the watchful eyes of the guards. Then he joined us, and do a transfer of energy to me.

”When ever you're ready my queen.”

I nooded and get away from Rain's embrace. He was looking at me a bit worried, but I assured him otherwise.
