13 How he proposed (1/2)

Chang Wook reaches his father and grabs him by the shoulder, turning him around to face him.

”Geez dad, talk about a first impression” Chang Wook said.

”What about you?!” Han Soo yells at his son ”You disappear for 6 years then come back with that woman!” Han Soo said disappointed in his son. He has it easy here, yet he decided to go to Seoul and once it got a little bit hard, he decided to become a gigolo ”I never knew you to be the kind of man to sleep your way into a job”

”For your information dad, that woman's name is Lee Ha Eun and she is one of the most respected women in Korea” Chang Wook steps up to defend Ha Eun but he doesn't know why ”And for your information, she's my fiancée”

Han Soo was surprised by his son's final words ”What?” he asked.

”You heard me” Chang Wook said as he walked away from his father and made his way to the living room where mostly everyone was.

”Excuse me everyone. I'd like to make an announcement!” he said loudly. He looked at his mother and grandmother. They were excited to hear what he had to say. Then he looked at Mi Jin who was staring at him with a smile. For a second, he wondered what face Mi Jin would make when she heard the news that were about to come out of her lips, and it made him sad to think about it, but he looked away from her, he promised Ha Eun he was going to do it.

”Ha Eun and I are getting married!” he said. Everyone was surprised. His heart started to beat uncontrollably when he said it out loud. It made him feel out of breath, but he didn't know why. Was he feeling guilty? Yes, this was definitely guilt. He looked at his mother and grandmother, they were the first that started cheering.

”Congratulations!” people yelled.

”Where's the lucky lady?” everyone looked around and called for Ha Eun. She peeked her head out from the dining room and Chang Wook gestured for her to come over.

”Isn't she beautiful everyone?” he asked with a smile. Everyone cheered. And some men whistled.

”I didn't know she had such bad taste!” a guy yelled. Everyone laughed. Chang Wook pointed at him and laughed.

”You're funny aren't you!” Chang Wook said. The atmosphere was light but Ha Eun felt a little uncomfortable, she didn't expect he'd just say it out of nowhere and without telling her.

”This is wonderful news Wookie!” Do Mi said.

”Oh, tell us how you proposed!” Soo Ryun said happily.

Everyone around was ready to hear about it. They wanted to know how romantic Chang Wook was, or even if he was romantic. Ha Eun looked at Chang Wook expecting him to say something, but he grinned at her and sat down on the sofa next to his grandmother and mother.

”I'd like to tell you guys but Ha Eun here loves telling the story” Chang Wook smiled at Ha Eun. She was speechless. She's not a storyteller! Looking around, all eyes are on her. She doesn't understand why Chang Wook won't say anything. If she embarrasses herself, he's in trouble as well ”Go ahead honey, the stage is yours”

”No…I won't let him get the best of me” Ha Eun tells herself.

”I love telling this story, yes I do” Ha Eun says as she walks closer to Chang Wook ”but where do I start?” she pinches his cheek as a way of showing her anger towards him, but everyone sees it as a sign of endearment. Chang Wook though, is in massive amounts of pain.

”Start wherever” someone yells.
