”Knock knock.” There was no answer from outside, but the knocking continued unabated.

Guan Jingyi frowned, he stood up and opened the door, the person in front of him was the young lady he had thought about day and night, her red and swollen eyes staring at him.

It had only been a few days, but Guan Jingyi had slimmed down a lot. The area below his cheekbones was sunken in and his face was deathly pale.

”Silly girl, what are you crying for?” The corner of Guan Jingyi's lips curled up into a smile as he extended his big finger to wipe off the blood on Xu Anran's face.

Tears.

That voice was just like before, gentle and loving.

But it was this sound that made Xu Anran's tears fall.

”You're hurt, badly hurt, aren't you?” Xu Anran asked while crying.

”It's not that serious, just a small wound.” When Guan Jingyi saw Xu Anran cry, his heart began to hurt as well. That sadness was definitely not any better than the pain in his back.

Guan Jingyi pulled Xu Anran into his embrace, causing his heart to thump hard, tears wetting the plain white shirt on his chest.

”Don't cry anymore, it's really just a small wound. It's okay.” Uncle Wu has already shown it to me. ”

However, Xu Anran was still crying, crying even harder, like a child who couldn't get his hands on her.

This was the first time Guan Jingyi felt so powerless.

Rubbing her hair, Guan Jingyi kept talking to her in a gentle and soft voice.

”So much for me, huh?” Xu Anran lifted her head. She had known Guan Jingyi for so long, but this was the first time she saw Guan Jingyi actually have a sharp little tiger fang. She laughed like a sunny boy.

”Who cares about you? If you lie to me, I won't be able to get angry.” Xu Anran used both of her hands to prop herself up, and only then did she realise that her tears and snot were all over Guan Jingyi's shirt.

Xu Anran covered her face, no longer looking at Guan Jingyi.

Ah Cheng had followed his master for so many years, it was rare for him to be so happy. Ah Cheng, who knew how to read people's eyes, ran to the supermarket and bought a bunch of fresh ingredients, fruits and vegetables and put them all into the fridge.

”Ah Cheng, you go back first.” Before Ah Cheng could volunteer to leave, Guan Jingyi had already spoken.

Ah Cheng took a look at the scene in the living room. It was extremely harmonious, to the point that he had never seen such a harmonious scene before. The Mister sat on the sofa and read a newspaper while the Madam sat beside him and sliced an apple for Mister.

”Sigh, if the two in front of me were real husband and wife, how nice would that be?” Ah Cheng sighed.

”Since you're sick, you should rest more. It's better to read less newspapers.” Xu Anran took away the newspaper that Guan Jingyi was reading, and handed the peeled apple in her hand over to Guan Jingyi.

In the blink of an eye, she had taken a look at the newspaper in her hands. Xu Anran frowned, although the foreign language of the entire article was not difficult for a top student like Xu Anran who had graduated from A University to read, but there were some difficult words written professionally, that Xu Anran was unable to translate. Thinking about the stack of classical books with Ancient Greek characters on Guan Jingyi's bookshelves again and again, Xu Anran thought that Guan Jingyi's level was indeed not something that an ordinary person could compare to.

”Comprehension?” Guan Jingyi asked.

Xu Anran bit her finger, staring at the newspaper in her hand, she honestly shook her head.

Guan Jingyi started to laugh heartily at her silly and cute look, and dotingly rubbed Xu Anran's hair.

Xu Anran lifted her head, and their gazes met. Xu Anran did not know when her mouth and Guan Jingyi's lips had become so close. A dubious aura circulated between the two of them, breathing in and out.

Xu Anran's stomach rumbled loudly.

Xu Anran was extremely embarrassed.

”An An, you're hungry!” Guan Jingyi explained, and his lips curled into a playful smile.
