Chapter 58: Kissing Me (1/2)

“Enough!” Xue Haolin indifferently interrupted Lin Xiaomi. “Don’t let me hear you insult Xin’er again. Otherwise, I won’t let you go.”
Lin Xiaomi sadly took one step back and asked with a smile, “How you won’t let me go? Sew my mouth or directly kill me?”
Xue Haolin saw the crystal tears in her eyes, but she smiled, stubbornly stopping her tears from streaming down her face.
He felt somewhat upset upon seeing this.
Lin Xin’er stood between them and said after holding his arm, “Forget it! You two stop arguing with each other. It’s me to blame for coming up with this proposal.”
“Xiaomi, since you don’t want to be my maid of honor, just neglect my words, and I won’t force you.”
Lin Xiaomi tugged at Xue’s sleeve and said in a low voice, “Why did you argue with Xiaomi? She’s just capricious. I’m kinda curious. Haolin, you like the me in your memory or me now? If I’m not the kid in your memory anymore, will you marry me?”
Lin Xin’er looked at Xue Haolin sideways with a naughty smile. She looked like each woman in a relationship who always loved asking some weird questions.
Xue Haolin was in a daze for a moment and nodded without caring about her words. “Of course I will. You gave me all the warmth as a kid, but now you’re beautiful and kind. I also like it very much.”
Lin Xiaomi happily snuggled into Xue Haolin’s arms with a happy smile. In his arms where he couldn’t see her behaviors, Lin Xin’er looked at Lin Xiaomi defiantly but said to him softly, “You give me the creeps. How could you say those words?”
Lin Xiaomi only felt that a deep cut was left on her heart and didn’t even notice how she walked out of the building.
She suddenly found herself ridiculous. What happened between her and Xue Haolin was years ago when they were just kids.
Was it meaningful that she kept a childhood promise and stubbornly forced him to honor his promise?
Perhaps, Xue Haolin cared more about the grown “playmate”.
After all, he said he wanted to marry Lin Xin’er even if she was not the kid in his memory.
So what else could Lin Xiaomi hold onto?
But why did she feel so sad?
She felt that she was abandoned.
Right, she got accustomed to being abandoned. As she grew up, she possessed few things...the incomplete family, her deceased father and mean mother...
She had no toys, no playmates, and even no one willing to talk to her until she met Xue Haolin.
They had a similar fate and thereby became good friends. Frightened and hopeful, she wanted to hide her sole friend to stop Lin Xin’er from finding out.
She had thought that Xue Haolin was the only one who Lin Xin’er couldn’t snatch away from her.
Now, she was deserted again.
Never mind. Even if all people abandoned her, she wouldn’t give up on herself, for she had her grandmother to look after.
“Lin Xiaomi, there is nothing to feel sad! Take your tears back and no one will sympathize with you!” shouted she like a crazy person on the street.
She shouted, then laughed, and cried in the end.
When she finished crying, she wiped her tears and went back to the magazine.
She called Sun Ru first and tell him that she finished the interview.
“Senior Brother, can I write this report?” asked she in an undertone. She knew that she was disqualified to do so for the time being.
