454 Primary Exploration of The Underground City

The traces of the long years were deeply inscribed in the vast and seemingly endless Munjo Underground City. With the awareness these two elite players had about the open field, they would have definitely maintained their Stealth Mode at all times. Lin Jie frowned. It seemed like he would have to be extra careful while exploring the underground city. It would be bad if he got caught up in the trap of those two. He could not afford to die! On top of that, those two fellows had the mission to kill him, which made them all the more dangerous.

“Silver-Feathered Eagle, stay above me within a 15-yards radius. Don’t go too far away.” Lin Jie thought about it and sent Silver Feathered Eagle flying up into the air to watch over him. At the very least, he would not be attacked from his blindspots with it.

Starting from now, he was going to explore the Munjo Underground City!

Exploring a map was one of the most rewarding activities in The New Age. When going to an unexplored map, it was also specially called “open up maps”.

The rewards of opening up maps were usually a lot. One could attain many rare items and equipment, which would not spawn more than once. With a gigantic map like the Munjo Underground City, there should be tons of treasures here.

As expected, Lin Jie found a glowing treasure chest after walking 60 yards. It was a Gold Chest! A Gold chest from a map like this, there should be a few gold weapons from this at the very least, right?

Beside the treasure chest, there was a giant skeleton formed from three skeletons. It was messy as if it was pieced together randomly from a pile of bones! Its shape was far from being artistic.

“Ogres really don’t care about their appearance. Even if they turned into Undead, to form something like that…” Lin Jie found it distasteful. Whoever saw this pile of cluttered skeleton ball with a stone hammer in its hand would find it disgusting as well.

The three piles of skeletons rolled over faster than Lin Jie had expected. He nearly could not react in time!

Lin Jie turned pale with shock. The three Undead actually managed to deplete his health bar by half. Their damage was terrifying! On top of that, the Undead’s body allowed them to be also immune to crowd control skills, making them difficult to handle.

Lin Jie thought to himself that it was a wise choice for him to not have brought the two Bandits with him. The Munjo was not an ordinary map. In normal maps, Bandits would be able to make use of their high Attack and crowd control skills to kill monsters. However, when the levels of the monsters were far above the players in a Level 55 map, Bandits became useless.

Here, other than explosive attacks that ignored Defense, most Bandits would not even deal much damage to monsters. Also, crowd control skills were mostly rendered useless by the monsters’ immunity. Thinking about it, those two Bandits must be having a hard time, right?

Seeing the three Undead wave their stone hammer once again, Lin Jie cast Sea Riding immediately, and the Naga Shield Soldier descended from the sky! Although the skill could summon various beasts, the strongest one was the Naga Shield Soldier. After all, it was summoned with Herya the Mermaid Princess’s strength when Lin Jie was in danger, and its grade was above that of a normal water beast.

The Naga Shield Soldier was not having an easy time either. His Defense was still lower than Lin Jie, and his health bar dropped by 1/3. However, this was sufficient for Lin Jie.

Lin Jie aimed at one of the Undead and Broken Blade slashed out a few consecutive strikes. He successfully pulled its aggro and lured it to the side before dealing his combo attack!

The monsters in the Blade Peak Canyon were afraid of combo attacks. The moment the combo started, the body of the Undead was also sent flying everywhere in shattered bone shards. A lot of the bones were also turned into ash by the powerful Broken Blade and dispersed in all directions.

Lin Jie immediately held his breath in case the darn ashes entered his nose. (The settings of the players’ physical fitness in The New Age was very high, and they had no problem holding their breaths for 10 minutes.)
