162 Episode 162: Find the Orc! (1/2)
We just got off to investigate. We're going out of town first.
”Then let's check the perimeter from the sky.”
”Huh?”
”Right!
When I fly magically up into the air, Gyro and you go up into the sky.
”Hey, hey!?”
”Well, which way are the orcs coming from...”
Everyone looks for the orcs as they turn in each direction, and I also use exploratory magic to explore the signs of demons moving in the herd.
Then I heard Mr. Aug's surprise from the ground.
”What the hell. Ahhh!
”What's wrong, Mr. Org?!? Oh, maybe you discovered a herd of orcs!”
”Chicks! Why are you flying like a natural!?”
”Huh? Flying magic, though?
”Flying magic!? What the hell!?”
That? Mr. Org, don't you know the magic of flight?
That's funny, it's not such a rare magic.
With that said, I was surprised by the people in town if I used it all over the city before, maybe this area is a land that doesn't need flying magic in a location?
In previous life, land with many demons flying in the sky might have recommended traveling on the ground without flying magic, or there might be circumstances I don't know about.
”If that's the case, I'll hold Mr. Org.”
”Huh? Hold it?
When I hold Mr. Org, I rise again into the sky.

and that's when Mr. Megli came to us pointing in the east direction.

Exploring the eastern direction with exploratory magic, I do feel a lot of demonic reactions.
”Yeah, it's too many for a normal demon, so maybe it's an oak”
”How many?
”Uh... something like 2000, for the most part.”
”To, 2,000!? More than our Knights!?”
”Orcs are very fertile.”
”It's not early!
It's a number that reminds me of the massive crusades I had around the Wang Capital before, but unlike then, the demons are too dense this time around. This is a sense of distance specific to a fellow or symbiotic demon.
”Two thousand. That's too many boulders.”
Sure, if these numbers attack, it'll be tough for the guards protecting the town.
”How soon do we get to town?
”It's all that population, so I think it's probably about two hours”
”Two hours... too short to evacuate the residents... then should I close the gate and stand inside? Can we do something if we run horses in the meantime and ask the lords of other towns for reinforcements?
Count the arrival time of the herd and think about how Mr. Org will deal with it.
As you first consider evacuating the townspeople, you can see the character of Mr. Org.
”Brother! Let's fight! We can beat the dragons. We can do it!
”Idiot, there's too many of them. With that number, it's faster for us to cut our magic first.”
”And there are likely to be superior species like Oak Generals and Oak Saucers.”
”When it comes to the top species of oak, it might reach rank B, and if there were an oak emperor, rank A. Rex can win with ease, but if we are, the herd of superior species isn't compatible.”
”Numbers of violence are strong.”
”Would it be more realistic to stand in town and thicken the town's walls with dirt magic and ice magic? What do we do, Mr. Rex?
Everyone's eyes concentrate on me for what Liliera said.
”I agree with you, Gyro. Mr. Org, let's crusade those orcs before we investigate.”
”Right, which way you'll need to fight more than attack. Contact the Knights and Adventurers Guild first. It will be difficult to work with them both because they are my strong people, but they won't be able to say anything about each other because the fate of the town hangs! All right, we're going back to town!

Being lighter, I leave town and head towards a herd of oaks. [M]

Mr. Org is right, the best way to defeat 20,000 orcs is to wipe them out with massive attack magic.
But the problem with that was that the orcs weren't too far from town.
If you use very strong magic, the shockwave will damage the town.
The magic that affects it extensively can damage the surrounding nature as well.
When that happens, the herbs that are supposed to be collected in the woods near the herd of oaks will be blown away, and the animals will escape, so the hunters won't be able to hunt their prey.
In order not to do so, we need to be careful with the magic we use.
”All right, let's go with this magic! Mana Burst Shooting Call!!”
I launch a densely compressed mass of magic into the air.
”Hey, what is that!? I feel incredible magic even though it's such a small chunk!?”
