1029 Unanimous Decision (1/2)

The arrival of a large number of in-service training doctors had actually reduced the work intensity in Yun Hua Emergency Medical Center.

The busyness and tension of the hospital were largely due to a shortage of manpower. For any hospital or institution, authorization was extremely rare and scarce. One, it was because the superiors were unwilling to authorize a large number of people. Two, when the doctors in the hospital were promoted to middle management and had a certain amount of decision-making power, there would be little incentive for them to add more people.

An authorized doctor was usually the doctor who would earn the most. Although a resident doctor and attending physician could not compare to the amount an associate chief physician and a chief physician earned, they could still earn a lot, but if the number of people in the department increased, a large amount of bonus which was supposed to belong to the associate chief physicians and chief physicians would still be taken away from their hands.

In that respect, the tension and busyness in a hospital were also partly manmade.

Comparatively speaking, getting in-service training doctors who had a certain level of skill, were flexible, and would not be involved in the competition for power in the hospital was the best way for hospitals to fill the shortage of manpower.

At least, for doctors, this was the most acceptable solution.

All the levels of management in Yun Hua Emergency Medical Center were in favor of Huo Congjun and Ling Ran's policies. After all, the upgraded Emergency Medical Center would not only have to take care of the patients brought by Ling Ran's treatment group but would also have to take care of the patients from other groups. It could be said that each treatment group was in an extremely busy state.

Just more than twenty in-service training doctors joining alone had completely changed the ecology of the Emergency Department.

Even if each treatment group could only use these in-service training doctors temporarily, once they obtained three to four in-service training doctors, in a day, they could solve dozens of patients' problems.

”Old Zuo, if there are any more in-service training doctors, send them to me.” When Chief Physician Tao met Zuo Cidian, he was all smiles.

He was about to retire soon, and now, he cared only about two things— making money and slacking off. An in-service training doctor can help him do both, making them Chief Physician Tao's favorite people.

Zuo Cidian smiled and said, ”If there are more coming, I'll help you ask whether they want to join your group.”

”Well, you can't let them all choose. If there are good seeds, pick them out in advance and send them over.” Chief Physician Tao sent a signal to Zuo Cidian.

Zuo Cidian laughed. ”I dare not agree to this, several leaders are watching my actions.”

He rushed forward and said, ”Chief Physician Tao, since we coincidentally bumped into each other, would you happen to be free over the next few days? Can you bring a few people over to support Doctor Lu?”

”Doctor Lu?” Chief Physician Tao did not like to care about departmental matters, and for a moment, he could not remember the names of the young people outside his group.

”Lu Wenbin. He's the one who makes really good pork trotters, and he's often Doctor Ling's first assistant.” Zuo Cidian looked at Chief Physician Tao's facial expression, and he saw no signs of aversion. He guessed that Lu Wenbin had not offended Chief Physician Tao and then continued saying, ”Doctor Ling has arranged a number of surgeries for Doctor Lu recently, and all of them have been done very well. Department Director Huo had also come over deliberately to take a look at his surgery. I'm thinking that it will be great if you have time to observe his surgery and give a few comments.”

Chief Physician Tao snorted. ”Ling Ran wants to promote Lu Wenbin, huh? If he's under Ling Ran, he should be a resident doctor. Is he about to go through an appraisal and become a chief resident?”

Zuo Cidian scratched his head and said, ”No. You know how Doctor Ling is. He usually only thinks about things from a technical perspective. Therefore, over the past few days, Lu Wenbin and Ma Yanlin have been arranged to perform more than four operations per day. The skill level of the two doctors has improved very quickly. So we just want to report this to a few of the leaders.”

Chief Physician Tao listened to Zuo Cidian's words, and he sucked in a sharp breath. ”Four operations per day? What's with young people these days?”

Zuo Cidian actually understood what he meant. Forget about everything else, just the fact that they were performing four operations alone meant that they were basically required to stand in the operating theater for more than twelve hours. Even if they did nothing, standing for twelve hours was downright exhausting. Plenty of young women who tended to the store, served as concierges, cosplayed, and worked in the sauna centers or in the hotel industry had been forced to stand for eight to ten hours a day. As a result, they were so tired that they resigned.

Besides, being a chief surgeon required a lot of brainpower.

”All in all, the two of them have persevered till now, and Doctor Ling also wants to encourage them. On my side, if I go back and arrange in-service training doctors to observe the surgery, I will give priority to Lu Wenbin and Ma Yanlin's surgeries.” When Zuo Cidian said this, his tone became gentle, and he once again felt sentimental for Doctor Ling's kindness.

Chief Physician Tao finally understood his request, and he could not help but be surprised. ”Using the lingo of you, youngsters, this Doctor Lu basically has main character power right now.”

Zuo Cidian was stunned for a while. ”We ... don't speak like that.”

Chief Physician Tao's gaze was locked on Zuo Cidian's face for a few seconds, and he smiled. ”What I'm saying is, I'm old, and I always feel that your generation is still young. Well ... Young Zuo, you are also over forty already, so you're not young anymore...”

A long sigh was how Chief Physician Tao mourned his youth.

Zuo Cidian's expression was basically the same as the Doge meme.
