1015 Flattering (1/2)

”The surgery was very successful.” Doctor Qu followed the gurney out of the operating theater and nodded proudly and confidently at the patient's family members.

With his experience, he could be said to have done this surgery very perfectly. The patient had enough blood supply, and he could guarantee that the patient could regain plenty of Achilles tendon strength. Even though the other party might need to rest for relatively long and it would be impossible for him to go through training and competitions that are as strenuous as Liu Weichen's, it was basically good enough for a PE teacher.

These words were what the patients were waiting for the most. They thanked Doctor Qu non-stop when they heard that.

The patient's older sister bent down to look at her younger brother, and she said with a smile on her face, ”It's great that the surgery had gone well. All that hard work didn't go to waste.”

Her younger brother was conscious at that moment, but he looked a little glum as he laid on the gurney.

”What's wrong? Are you feeling any discomfort?” his older sister immediately asked as she noticed his glum expression.

Her younger brother forced a smile. ”Not really.”

”Just say whatever you're feeling.” His elder sister thought, 'If you don't say anything you have to say while the doctor's here, are you going to wait until tomorrow or the day after tomorrow to speak?'

Her younger brother pursed his lips in resignation. He looked like he wanted to say something, but there was something holding him back.

”Hey, you're making me anxious. What's wrong? Did your ureter drop out?” The elder sister believed that her younger brother was hesitant due to embarrassment.

”I'm not using a ureter.” Her younger brother sighed in resignation and said, ”I was conscious during the surgery, and I heard Doctor Qu calling someone else for help non-stop while he operated on me.”

The moment he said that, his older sister was utterly shocked. She almost jumped to her feet as she questioned Doctor Qu, ”Why are you operating on someone if you don't know how to do it?”

There were a lot of people in the waiting area, to begin with. Many of them were bored and anxious, and when they heard something so interesting going on, they immediately crowded around Doctor Qu.

Doctor Qu was not considered a talented doctor, but he was an attending physician in the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center. He had more than ten years of experience dealing with patients' family members.

There was a calm expression on Doctor Qu's face, and he was level-headed as he gazed at the pair of siblings and the onlooking crowd. ”First of all, not only do I know how to operate on patients, but I'm also very good at it. Second of all, I performed this surgery very meticulously and earnestly. And last but not least, like what I had said just now, the surgery is a very successful one.”

The patient's sister froze too. Actually, this was no rocket science. Private clinics charged quite a lot of money for their services, and there was no need for them to hire a doctor who did not know how to operate on patients after receiving so much money.

In this time and age, it was probably more expensive to hire an actor compared to an excellent doctor.

Aside from that, the most important thing was that the surgery was a successful one. If surgery went successfully, other people would not make a valid point even if they were to point out problems.

”Then what about what my younger brother said?” The patient's elder sister bent down and asked her younger brother a few questions. She then continued, ”What did he mean when he said you called someone else non-stop to ask for help during the surgery?”

”It's because Doctor Ling is here.” Even though Doctor Qu's expression was dark, he was feeling happier and happier.

The thing he was the most afraid of right now was that Ling Ran would set him up using his power and influence after the surgery.

Doctor Qu believed that doctors like Ling Ran were the hardest to decipher.

Skillful doctors had always been very powerful and had great control over things. In fact, their influence extended to other hospitals. A doctor whose career was largely limited by the hospital he was in would have skillful and powerful doctors imposing various limitations on him if he were not careful.

Hence, throughout the surgery, Doctor Qu was plagued by one question: how should he flatter Ling Ran the right way?

Giving him calls to ask him about the surgery was one of the methods that Doctor Qu had thought of. But he did not know whether that was enough to ensure his survival in the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center.
