”You need to at least tell us why you're late, and make an apology according to the circumstances or something,” Wang Zhuangyong ordered Ling Ran excitedly.
Ling Ran thought about it for a moment and slowly said, ”I was performing Achilles tendon repair surgery, and the assistant made a mistake. Wang Chuanwen spoke in a sincere tone, and he was also explaining things in detail.
Wang Zhuangyong and Chen Wanhao looked at each other. Wang Zhuangyong then slowly said, ”I feel like I have seen this scene somewhere before.”
”At the lecture halls, the field, the shaded walkway, the cafeteria, the roof, in front of the dorm…” Chen Wanhao sounded similarly calm.

It only took a short while for Wang Zhuangyong and Chen Wanhao to understand what was going on. The elderly man was not there to talk because he was bored. Instead, he was there to offer goodies to Ling Ran.
Unfortunately, Ling Ran was unable to read between the lines. Wang Zhuangyong and Chen Wanhao were anxious on Ling Ran's behalf.
However, they had been dormmates with Ling Ran for a long time, and they knew what kind of person Ling Ran was. If Ling Ran were after the goodies other people offered him, he would have dated one of the beautiful young women who drove sports cars and wore Richard Mille watches...
Yet, by the end of the conversation, Chen Wanhao could hardly stop himself as he said, ”Ling Ran, can you give me a chance if there's any vacancy in the new ICU?”
”You're interested in working in the ICU?” Ling Ran was a little shocked as he looked at Chen Wanhao.
In the hospital, doctors working in the ICU were known for living a tiring life that always ended up with their bodies getting dirty by the end of the day. Of course, they earned a lot more than the average doctor. But Chen Wanhao was not someone who needed money.
Chen Wanhao nodded solemnly and said, ”My grandfather went in and out of the ICU before passing away, so I'm quite interested in working in the ICU. It's just that I have not gotten a chance to do so yet.”
”Sure,” Ling Ran agreed to Chen Wanhao's request before he looked at Wang Chuanwen. With Wang Chuanwen's position and power, he was definitely capable of ensuring that a junior doctor was hired by Yun Hua Hospital for the new ICU. Ling Ran did not know whether it would be difficult for him to do so, though.
”No problem. I will personally make a request for Doctor Chen to be hired so that there's nothing the hospital can say about it.” Wang Chuanwen immediately agreed. It might be more convenient for him to use Wang Chuanwen as a link tying him to Ling Ran instead of directly appealing to Ling Ran.
