”Try and do it.” Ling Ran did not wait for them to continue. He waved his hand and said to Zuo Cidian, ”Have him become an assistant for some surgeries.”
”Okay.” Zuo Cidian agreed and asked Ren Qi, ”Is it okay if we perform surgeries until six o'clock or seven o'clock?”
”Sure, no problem.” Ren Qi immediately agreed. He smiled and said, ”Sometimes, I'll perform surgeries until around one o'clock or two o'clock in the morning.”
Zuo Cidian smiled faintly. ”Sometimes we'll do surgeries until one o'clock or two o'clock in the morning as well.”
”I know, right? I'm okay with working until seven o'clock.”
Zuo Cidian continued to smile faintly. ”Have you made arrangements for your accommodation?”
”Yes. Department Director Huo arranged for me to stay at the hostel for one person.”
”Okay then.” Zuo Cidian stood up and found Ren Qi a working space.
Ren Qi watched the smiles on everyone's faces while he remained on high alert. He quietly pulled Zuo Cidian to the side and said, ”Doctor Zuo, did I boast too much just now?”
Zuo Cidian smiled warmly. ”Did you boast just now?”
”I'm not too sure too…” Ren Qi said tentatively, ”But I just feel like everyone wants to laugh at me…”
Zuo Cidian saw the anxiety in Ren Qi and remembered when he first came to Yun Hua Hospital. His heart went out for Ren Qi, and he reminded Ren Qi, ”Since everyone wants to laugh at you, you should just let them do so. As the saying goes, just go along with the flow. If you cannot resist it, you might as well enjoy the ride.”
Ren Qi felt his heart tense. ”Is… it?”
”Just listen to my advice.” Zuo Cidian patted Ren Qi's shoulder and went away.
In the afternoon, as the other departments also got to work, Ling Ran's treatment group was separated into three teams, and they started to work.
Today, Yu Yuan was still the one who was on duty in the Emergency Treatment, since she was weak, and it was Ma Yanlin's turn to be the chief surgeon. Lu Wenbin and another houseman were in the other operating theater and doing surgery preparation for Ling Ran.
The first surgery in the afternoon was knee arthroscopy, which was a relatively easy surgery.
When Ling Ran went up the fray, he asked Ren Qi, ”Have you done this before? Can you do it?”
”I performed two knee arthroscopies before. I should be okay,” Ren Qi immediately answered.
Ling Ran nodded and announced the start of the surgery.
The operating theater was silent.
The team was used to perform knee arthroscopies, and they were silent even when they passed the instruments and devices. Ling Ran could not even be bothered to speak.
