The storm was long past.

Three helicopters, each producing a beam of golden light, landed in the distance, one after another. Then, people and resources started alighting.

Lucio, the person in charge of the site, was stepping onto the land of Cuba Town for the first time ever.

He was accompanied by four reporters. They took up the space of one and a half helicopters, causing the resources delivered this time to be fewer than those from the previous helicopters.

However, with the storm gone, it was no longer as dangerous, or dire. Without storms, the helicopters had a window of clear skies for at least five hours, more than enough to save Cuba Town, which only had about one thousand people. But now, the people no longer felt like leaving, and were less worried about their shortage of supplies.

After all, Cuba Town had always been remote.

At that moment, all residents surrounded the reporters and made their own statements.

”Many of our cows died, and it's mostly because of insufficient feed. This is very cruel. We hope that the government can provide us with emergency feed—”

”Many houses collapsed, and the remaining houses are no longer safe. There's also the issue with cleaning. There's so much sludge around, and if we have to clean it ourselves, we'll be working until the rainy season next year—”

”My fish pond is flooded, and the fish are gone… Yes, they're all valuable fish…”

”There're even more people who are sick now. We're all relying on Doctor Ling from China to treat us. We need more doctors.”

When Lucio faced the public, he showed a smile on his face. The seemingly overwhelming demands did not seem to faze him one bit.

In Brazil, farming was still an occupation that occupied a moral high ground. Even though the ranchers and farmers made ridiculous requests, they were still easily forgiven.

The attitude of a politician was most important in this sort of situation, not the empty promises he made.

After all, then out of his ten promises would never be fulfilled.

After Ma Yanlin listened for a few minutes and experienced the political situation in Brazil, he followed a few nurses as they moved patients into the helicopter at the corner, where the cameras had their backs turned to.

The severely wounded patients were all sent away, but there were still patients who had undergone surgery and were not out of the woods yet. Some of the elderly were wracked with multiple underlying diseases. Guozheng Charity Hospital lacked doctors and medicine, so the patients' conditions could not be stabilized.

A tiny shadow silently enveloped Ma Yanlin. ”Those who don't know will assume all of you operated on every patient.”

”Yu Yuan! I mean… Doctor Yu, you're back?” Ma Yanlin was really surprised. He turned around twice before he saw Yu Yuan.

Yu Yuan put her hands behind her small calves. Her short height made her body seem full of energy.

Yu Yuan looked up to Houseman Ma Yanlin as a chief resident and asked in a whisper, ”I heard that… you've performed seven hemorrhoid surgeries?”

Ma Yanlin laughed. ”We even performed more than one hundred other surgeries, and they're of different types. You don't know this, but on the days when there was flood, this place was like the Emergency Department with only two people. We don't even have an anesthetist. Doctor Ling and I did the anesthesia by looking through books…”

”And on top of that, you performed two intestinal obstruction repairs?”

”Only one, the other one was diagnosed as appendicitis later on. The facilities in the hospital are so bad that even the Pathology Department can't operate. It was so intense at that time, because it meant we had to perform a laparotomy to check the patient. Before we let the patient sign, we just said it was slightly serious. After all, intestinal obstruction is more serious, right…?”

”You succeeded in all of them?”

”Yes. Oh yes, you went to Amazon rainforest, right? Is the view good? It's the Lungs of the Earth, you know? It's amazing…”
