Xie Huilan smiled and nodded to the staff. “Thanks for your hard work. Go back and have a good rest.” She is in her usual ladies’ classy black suit.

A man, in his early thirties, walked over from behind Xie Huilan. “Mayor.”

Xie Huilan turned and smiled. “Keliang.”

“Are you going back to the family quarters? My car was sent for repairs today. Can I get a lift?” Cheng Keliang looked at Xie Huilan.

Xie Huilan smiled. “Haha… Sure. It’s on the way.”

Cheng Keliang replied. “Thank you, Mayor. I was still wondering how to go back.”

Xiao Chen was surprised. He did not expect the infamous God of Plague to remember his surname. “Chief Dong.”

Dong Xuebing waved and points to that man who had boarded Xie Huilan’s Volvo Passat with her. “Who is that?”

“Oh, he is Deputy Mayor Cheng Keliang. He oversees the County’s Ministry of Education.”

Dong Xuebing suddenly remembers who this person is. He is the youngest Deputy Mayor in the County and has some connection with the City Government. He is still single, and Dong Xuebing continued to ask the staff. “Is Mayor Cheng courting Mayor Xie?”

Xiao Chen hesitated for a second and replied. “Err… I think so.”

Dong Xuebing gave him a stare. “Yes is yes, and no is no. What do you mean by thinking so?”

“Huh? Yes.” Xiao Chen quickly reply. He doesn’t dare to not answer the God of Plague’s question. He lowered his voice. “Mayor Cheng had been trying to get close to Mayor Xie recently. Furthermore, she is still young and single, and Cheng Keliang is the only Deputy Mayor who is single and good enough to be with her. But the moment Xie Huilan’s car exited the compound, a Volkswagen Jetta suddenly dash out from a side road, and Dong Xuebing nearly crash into that car!

Dong Xuebing quickly applied emergency brakes and saw that Jetta followed behind Xie Huilan’s Passat. He cursed. “F**k! Do you know how to drive?!” He floored the accelerator and followed them. He had changed his car and is not afraid of being recognized by others.

The Party Committee Building is not far from the Quarters, but it is the peak period now, and there are lots of cars.

After a while, the County Government’s No. 1 registration plate, Passat, stopped in front of a supermarket. Old Xing alighted and enter the supermarket to buy groceries for Xie Huilan.
