23 Alistair Companion Mission Part 1 (1/2)

I met up with the squad outside the outskirts of the city. I still beat all of them to the dispatch zone. While waiting for them Galtea and I conversed over mechanics of operators lightly, she was not very forthcoming as usual but it was due to Council Rules this time. I didn't have to say much but she was able to tell I was not ok with that reason. I also started to receive small imprints of life as well from the synchro we were undergoing.

As far as these World laws, they were something else. How the items just fit on the person in a pocket dimension per person. The food, however, could not be stored. Afterward, we mused over my squad.

The first was the young lady Tia. I knew her since childhood in this world. Her family serves my own when they first separated from the Beoulve house. Her sister was originally my aide. But went missing one day. The younger daughter Tia took this position determined to fill her sister's place. Tia was loyal energetic, and honestly someone I was able to count on. Well the other me counted on.

The second was the other squire Carn. He hailed from a disgraced noble family. The titles they family owned was stripped two generation ago from what I could remember. Carn was loyal to a fault, more bloodthirsty than a den of panthers, and easily bored. A weird combination but someone I wouldn't mind getting stuck in a fight with.

The third was Davido a chemist. This bastard bugged me. He was a money grubber, a coward, and cunning not someone I wanted on my team. He bought his way into the Akademy how I have no idea. I don't trust him in the least. The amount money he was able to get ahold of would scare a veteran on wall street.

The fourth was Banka a chemist. He unnerved me a little he seemed quite shifty. He was quiet, cunning, and Calcutive. I could never tell what he was thinking. He always keeps me on my toes. His words always pointed out what was wrong with a situation. But this was only in dire situations other than that he remained quiet.

We exchange gear and all moved out. It was pretty quiet on the journey. The good news about this squad I didn't talk with most of them well besides Tia. I was mostly withdrawn growing up due to the massacre of my family they tend to give a wide birth. So anyway I act now will shape their views of me.

System: Perception Check: 21

”Hold up here, andget ready for combat.” I stopped the team to prepare for the encounter. Unlike in the game were able to change gear and how to approach. Galtea stated as long as we weren't already spotted first we would be able to use The System abilities and ignore the World Law in that way.

I found it funny the first battle here was gonna take place on Mandalia planes. A group of bandits was laying waste to a group of squires. Just six of them left that I could accurately tell that was still moving for combat. At least four were down with numbers above them. Maybe we could get to the down enemies before they crystalize. I spotted one blond in the group, in particular, looked familiar. No way was it Argath. He would be the only one here at this time frame.

One of the six an expensively dressed squire in all sorts of heraldry started to panic. ”Protect me you fools. Count De Limberry is my cousin he will pay a large sum for my safety.”

I moved closer and activate observe. It informed me at least that it was Argath. It was best we acted now. I broke into a sprint with my squad pulling up the rear.

Argath started to speak to the knight while moving closer to the rear. ” Sir what are we gonna do? They have us outnumbered and we are exhausted.”

An actual knight in the group the one I assume is leading them spoke out, ” We will hold our ground and try our best to escape as well. Get into formation! Show these bandits we won't go down without a fight.”

The gaudily-dressed one was conversing with the two chemists.

”You three do your best to distract them. We will get some help for you all.” The squire and two chemists began to retreat or flee is more like it. ”Do your best to stall them as best you can.”

”Come back here you baseborn cowards,” Argath yelled at the trio.

”Argath control yourself!” The knight sternly said. ”Our enemies are upon us they can wait.”

The lady white mage in the group. ” My magic is to low. I have one more spell I can cast before I am completely spent.”

I looked back to Carn he was able to keep up with my speed. ” Carn me and you will swing around back and rush in. If it looks too dangerous, or that they won't survive that extra time it would take it we will strike from the sides.” Carn gave me a grunt of approval. I looked further back. ”The rest of you the front is yours. The priority for you three is to stay alive. The secondary is to save them. You have your orders move out!”

Me and Carn broke forward we were able to make it to the rear successfully. 'Isn't this the point I should say like a cool one-liner or something.'

Galtea: If you do I am taking away your reward.

'Ouch, you are heartless. What reward?'

Galtea: Save the three and change history. Rewards ????, ????? Failure -1500 points.

”Welp don't wanna waste time Carn. Kill the bandits they have to die, leave none of them alive understand.” I drew my longsword and moved in.

Carn burst forward I saw magic violently around his legs. He told me gleefully as he swung his axe into the back of a bandit. ”Azul I like this side of you much better than the quiet you!”

'Lv3 6/190 Adrenaline Rush, Lv5 21 /170 Biotic Shielding.' I focused my power at the very tip of the blade. Sending the sword right through the thief in there groups right lung and shoulder. Assassin techniques work wonders, Galtea was right not using my Lin Kuei skillset was foolish.

”Aye, there's a reason you could say I was always quiet. Chalk up my behavior to that as well.” I said as I looked back at him.

”Dammit, it's one of the Order patrols. Kill them quickly the knight and priest must be dealt with.” The Bandit leader commanded.

An influx of black magic poured this his hand directly at Carn and the corpse he discarded. I jump in front of the blow and took it head on while activating observe.

”Damn that hurts yah prick!” Using my biotic infused sword to block worked in favor. I should think of more ways to use it. Good thing that was just the fire spell and not fira.

Galtea: Use every opportunity you can to your advantage, my User.

'Understood.' Before the smoke could settle I used all the remaining strength of my adrenaline rush to burst through putting me face to face with the leader. the effects of that burst dissipate it and my shielding seemed to receive a boost.

”My apologies cousin, it seems you will die do to Dycedarg's schemes,” I quietly said to him as we crossed swords.

Codis eyes drew into slits. He sneered at me. ”So the mute grew a pair no matter. I don't know how you learned about what's going on, but you can't stop what's coming or what will happen.”
