64 A Friend in Need (1/2)
Varsha is feeling pain and the duo is looking at her with their complacent look when a voice is heard from nearby ”He is not the type of person who will like someone and marry someone else. If he is really such type of person then you should be happy now for not being married to him and should not dwell on it.”
It is Swati who has come back and she heard what the hideous duo has said to Varsha behind the back of Akash. Even Varsha along with Arushi and Aditya felt surprised that she did not know when Swati arrived. She has almost forgotten to counter the comment of Arushi due to her feeling of sorrow. She felt like her hurt is unburdened by a lot by the reply of Swati. She looked toward Swati with gratitude in her heart and welcomes her back with a smile.
Swati just walked and took her seat with no care and placed her plate filled with food in her front. She took a bite and then looked at the Arushi and Aditya and eyed them questioningly while chewing in a relaxed manner.
In few minutes Swati swallowed her food and then ignored the couple in front and turned to Varsha who is unwilling to talk to anyone and said ”Your husband got caught by someone who wanted to talk to him. So he joined them for now. He asked me to tell you not to worry.”
And then Swati turned toward the Arushi and Aditya duo and said ”Have we begged you to grace us with your presence? Can't you see that no one is here willing to talk to you? Let me eat properly without looking at your faces.”
Arushi stood up and she gave a gaze of hate and ridicule at Varsha and Swati and sneered ”What a pair of unusual people? One poor and one pitiful.” After saying this couple stood up and walked away.
After leaving the table, the expression of couple reverted to calm and respectful like the people of high society. Arushi and Aditya soon joined some other group to mingle with. Mahat Pawar has observed the interactions and he felt amused at the way the couple has left the table. He excused himself from his table to fill up his plate.
On the table of Varsha is sitting in a sad mood and Swati is eating. Between her bites, Swati saw her expression and said ”I heard what that rude girl said. Why are you sad? I can see it clearly that your husband cares for you.” Then she pointed toward a group and said ”See, your husband is there. He has looked toward us many times till now between his conversation and eating.”
Varsha looked toward the table where Akash is sitting with a group and talking. His concentration is one someone who is telling something. Varsha looked toward Swati and asked in a hopeful voice ”Really? Do you think so?”
She really wanted to feel some type of solace at this moment. After asking she anticipated that Swati will repeat what she said about how much Akash cares for her. But to her disappointment, some other voice asked: ”What are you ladies talking by yourself?”
Varsha felt irritated by this interruption and turned her head to find Mahat Pawar standing with his plate in front. She was sad and she has asked a question to Swati to find a reason to feel happy but this smiling idiot in front has interrupted the moment.
The smiling face of Mahat Pawar and knowing his personality felt the most hateful thing to Varsha at this moment. She felt annoyed and said ”Why does it matter to you? Do we have any reason to talk to you?”
Mahat Pawar felt awkward and smile faded from his face and he said in a calm face ”I only wanted to make things friendlier among us. Last time it did not end well.”
Varsha is still feeling angry and she hissed ”Your gaze is of a pervert and you have also offended my friend here. People like you are those I hate the most. If you do not wish to cause a scene here, then keep a distance from me.”
Mahat Pawar also lost his cool and said in an annoyed voice ”I thought to make amends. You girls are really rude and crazy.” and walked away toward the table at which he was sitting with his friends and sister.
”Good to be called crazy than being associated with people like you.” Varsha huffed and muttered at his departing back.
