C111 (1/2)
Not long later, the other two groups of people returned.
Seeing the two dead men on the ground, the four of them looked at each other.
”Chase after her! We must kill her and avenge our boss!”
Immediately, one person stayed where he was, while the other three people chased after the path they came from and the position that the boss was in charge of.
Su Li made his move again, this time with the crossbow, he shot an arrow through the chest of the person who was left behind.
She climbed down the tree, vigilantly taking off the man's night-clothes and putting them on herself. She used the light from the torch to tie her hair into a man's bun and wiped her face with blood. Afterwards, she dragged the man into the bushes and went back to lie down next to the two corpses.
Her strategy was risky, but worth a try.
The most dangerous place was also the safest place. There was definitely a reason for these words to become a legend.
As time passed, someone came back.
The light from the torch flickered, Su Li only heard someone curse, ”We've been tricked, another one died.”
Immediately after, the two people who had returned locked onto the tree, with their backs facing Su Li.
She effortlessly killed him with the crossbow …
After dealing with the three remaining people, Su Li was afraid that someone might not have died, and so he added another cut to each of them.
She was exhausted. Her continuous movements hastened the bleeding of her wound. She could only extinguish the torch on the ground and lie paralyzed, recovering her strength.
The forest was dark and eerily silent.
Suddenly, a flame appeared. Su Li tensed up, and subconsciously calmed his breathing, tightly holding onto the crossbow in his hand.
The person's footsteps were extremely light. If it wasn't for the firelight, she would have almost been unable to sense it.
Just as that person was about to get close, the crossbow in her hand moved. With a 'whoosh' sound, the sharp arrow shot towards that person's mingmen.
The man dodged. Su Li jumped up from the ground and continued to attack.
”Su Li?” Mo Lianjin called out softly.
Hearing that, Su Li stopped his attack, he was in a trance: ”Mo Lianjin?”
Mo Lianjin did not say a word, and only stared at her.
Her small face was covered in blood, and behind her were several corpses that had already died. Her left hand held a sharp blade, while her right hand held a crossbow.
”Why are you here?” Su Li asked again. For some reason, after confirming that it was him, the tensed up nerves on her body instantly relaxed and shook.
Mo Lianjin took a few steps forward and hugged her.
Only now did he realize that her clothes were completely soaked. Her fingertips brushed against them, immediately dying them red.
”This King will collect your corpse!”
There was anger in his voice.
Why did she always have the ability to put herself in danger?
”Then I'll have to disappoint you. I really cherish my life. I won't die.” Su Li knew that he was worried about her, so he smiled at her and relaxed in her embrace.
Mo Lianjin wanted to curse her a few more times, but seeing that her entire body was trembling, he could not bear to do so. He could only hold back his anger and carefully helped her to sit down, ”Where are you hurt? This King will bandage you first. ”
”Shoulder.” Su Li looked at his left shoulder, ”You still haven't said why you're here.”
”You haven't returned for a day, but this king found out about the Zuo Mansion. After leaving the city, I noticed that there was a long arrow flying along the road, so I chased after you.” Mo Lianjin briefly explained as he reached out to tear her clothes.
”Sigh, don't tear it. The buttons are very easy to undo and it's faster than you tearing your clothes.”
”…”
Mo Lianjin did not say a word as he opened up her sleeves, revealing half of her shoulders.
As he was rolling down the slope, he saw that the arrow had moved, and the wound was a mess of flesh and blood. Fortunately, the arrow had not been poisoned and neither had the bone.
