The rain of arrows became increasingly dense.
Su Li could feel that Mo Lianjin was already beginning to struggle, and when he flew up a few times, he almost couldn't hold her anymore.
But he had never let go of her. No matter how dangerous the road ahead was, he had always protected her. He passed through the rain of arrows in an attempt to leave the alley.
Su Li was unable to help, she could only hug him tightly, preventing him from getting into more trouble.
”Your Highness.” Upon hearing the news, Greenwood, who had rushed over, held a long sword in his hand and blocked the rain of arrows for the two of them. ”I'll go kill the one who shot the hidden arrow. Your Highness, be careful.”
”Yes.”
Greenwood dashed toward a certain direction, and before long, a blood-curdling screech filled the air.
Just as Su Li was about to heave a sigh of relief, Mo Lianjin stumbled and landed with her.
His breathing quickened, and his pair of deep eyes were tainted with a layer of blood-red.
”This King will stand in the way. Leave quickly.” He pushed her around a corner and caught another arrow with his hand.
Su Li stood outside of the area covered by the rain of arrows, her breath still lingering the smell that was inherent to his body, causing her heart to feel warm.
However, Mo Lianjin was probably too exhausted, with a few arrows shooting at him from the sky, when he reached for the last arrow with his bare hands, both of his legs went soft, causing him to change his direction of attack.
Suddenly, that long arrow pierced into his shoulder …
Su Li's pupils instantly enlarged, seeing that he was about to fall. At that moment, she did not care about the poison from the arrows anymore, and directly rushed over, using her frail shoulder to support him.
”Why did you come back?” Mo Lianjin's lips were shockingly white.
”I don't want you to die in front of me.”
Su Li looked at the rain of arrows, and made a cross in his heart. He then recited ”Amitabha Buddha's blessing” and carried him towards the corner where they came from.
A few steps were like centuries.
One arrow after another fell at her feet. A few of them even brushed past her ears …
Finally, the two of them made it to the corner without any problems. Greenwood also seemed to have played a role, and the rain of arrows started to lessen.
Su Li placed Mo Lianjin on the ground. The arrow poison had already started to act up, and he was shivering cold all over. The corner of his white lips slowly turned black.
Not caring about anything else, she lifted her hand and began to tear at his clothes.
”What are you doing?” Mo Lianjin squeezed these words out from his teeth and casually raised his hand to block his uninjured shoulder.
”If you want to live, then shut up.”
Su Li moved quickly, avoiding the cloth covering his shoulders, and in a short moment, had already taken off his robes to his waist.
The long arrow was still stuck in his shoulder. She took out the set of needles from her sleeve, her mind full of plans to protect her heart meridian.
She lifted her hand and pointed the needle down with a grave expression.
After a long time, she let out a long sigh of relief and began to use needles to draw in the poison.
Starting from his heart meridian, he used acupuncture to force all of the poison in his body into his wounds. Then, he pulled out arrows and started using drugs.
In the entire process, Mo Lianjin did not make a sound, but his consciousness was still there.
He looked at her drooping needle, at her struggling to pull out the arrow, at her bending over, her small mouth moving toward his shoulder.
That mouth was sealed on his wound. It was soft and warm, like a small hook, causing his heart to itch.
The depths of his eyes darkened, and a deep and serene light shone from them. His thin lips gradually regained their color.
When Greenwood returned after killing all the people, he saw that Su Li was lying on top of his master's body, sucking out the black blood, spitting it out, sucking it in again, and vomiting again.
His own master obediently lied on the ground and allowed Su Li to do whatever he wanted. This scene was not only captivating, it also made him feel that it was inconceivable.
He couldn't help but ask himself, was this still the War God whose family killed people without batting an eyelid, was he the one who was used by adults to scare children?
