Chapter 563: What he is (1/2)

Staring off into the distance, Wang Ling felt the punches he suffered from Lixus. It hurt him, and though it was the thing he had been searching for the pain, and in the midst of the fight… he was hit on the head by a surprised attack.

[What have I been doing?]

Countless lives hands in the balance of Wang Ling's strength. However, ever since he awakened, after receiving the powers of the All-Father, he tasted nothing but defeat and felt useless, more so than he had ever been before.

[I have not grown complacent; I am more focused that I could ever be… my thoughts are tunneled in the single thought of defeating the Emperor of Death… so why is it that I lose? I act as if I am the strongest, yet, that feels like it cannot be farther from the truth.]

Has he grown weaker?

That was impossible.

He held the power of the Universe in his hands, life itself bows to him, and though unstable, Chaos Qi was beginning to flow again.

[Yet, I am getting beaten again.]

Wang Ling's mind went black… only his thoughts echoed. A chink in his armor appeared, an armor he called his mind. This mind of his, that had been melded with the thoughts and ideals of the previous All-Father, the Ruler of Chaos, began to unravel.

[I have no experienced a lost since I awakened… yet, I have not won as well. I grown hesitant to act… and like before I delude myself that I am in full control. It is infuriating…]

The consciousness that moves the body took over—released it from its confines—what softness that blossomed after he became the All-Father, taken, and what followed, was for him to answer the call of a child that had been wanting to be called upon again.

Wang Ling… the killer who slaughtered billions awakened with the knowledge and skills of the current him. The instincts ingrained in Wang Ling's journey to create the ocean of blood he piled on his way to becoming the All-Father exploded and then, as the broken arm, starting from the bones, and then, the muscle fibers, the tendons, fats, the God's Mark, the invulnerability to elemental damage — like saplings, his arm sprouted into a sturdy tree.

From there, Wang Ling's body moved in accordance to his instincts. He recognized the air of arrogance in Lixus' tone, used that against the Ancestor that almost killed him just moments earlier. The flames got close to Lixus, the flames, opened its mouth, with eyes as cold as steel…

[The All-Father in me has awaken… but the true Wang Ling hasn't… now is the time to be unleashed. Remind them of who I am—that I am strong.]

”Fer, Devour—”

The spark, a lion's head appeared and then formed up, Lixus felt that something had gone horribly wrong. He immediately sprung up a wall of Primal Ice, and all melted away without it capable of fighting back, his eyes widened from shock.

The Lion's maw dropped and if not for his fur taking the brunt of the force, Lixus was well aware that he would be nothing more than a mangled corpse by then. He fought back, tore open a path of escape for him to take.

He backed away as quickly as he could, but the body of the lion was merely flames. It dissipated upon Wang Ling's command, through the black embers Wang Ling didn't bother with the pleasantries of keeping his face covered. With flesh immune to the touch of the elements, he simply bulldozed through and grabbed Lixus by the head.

From the gaps of Wang Ling's fingers, Lixus and Wang Ling exchanged a gaze. There, Lixus saw Wang Ling's true self… he felt fear.

Wang Ling's qi exploded, his hold of it empowered his body further and with it, he threw almost managed to crush Lixus' head. The other however, pried his fingers away from his face. Lixus did not simply keel over seeing Wang Ling suddenly change.

He flipped over, and kicked Wang Ling's chin sending him up. Regaining his footing, spears of Primal Frost came after Wang Ling, ”Primal Frost: First Spear!”

Wang Ling could see it, but he didn't react much. His mind worked faster, now that his mind was only focus on the fight after casting the thoughts about the Origin General, his focused increased, ”Fer.”

Black Flames flickered around Wang Ling and then the flames took the form of a Lion. It 4growled, and then it opened its mouth to let out an earth-shattering roar that echoed for kilometers, bending space with its heat and rage.

Naor, and the others covered their ears, those on board the Sailers almost went deaf if not for Bai Xue's interference. She too could not believe what she was seeing, [The kitty turned to be such a ferocious beast. And this one is just fracture, incapable of even housing a consciousness. I can only imagine the glee of that beast.]

Fer's roar melted the ice coming for Wang Ling but unlike those outside of the battle, Lixus did not become stationary. He powered through the roar and reached. He summoned an avalanche of frost to fight back Fer so he could resume his fight with Wang Ling.

With blood coming out of his mouth, Lixus clashed with Wang Ling, Unlike the one before, however, Wang Ling was not blown away. As he circulated his qi, he was able to steady himself, and then, his eyes glowed a mystical blue.

Light trailed with his every movement; his eyes captured every single moment. He moved accordingly, he was regaining his speed, matching, Lixus and eventually, he was moving faster and faster and after several exchanges, Wang Ling managed to overcast Lixus in speed.

Swoosh!

Wang Ling's fist came fast, but he noticed that Lixus' hand was already there, waiting to block against Wang Ling.

Swoosh!

Again, another punch was thrown, a kick, an elbow, Wang Ling was clearly faster, yet he couldn't connect. Wherever he went to, there, Lixus would be waiting.

[What's happening? How is it that he could…] Wang Ling's internal monologue paused as he saw the peculiarity appear?

Lixus raised his hand, before Wang Ling could even initiate his strike.

Bam!

Another one, blocked.

[Can he see the future? No, if he could do that, then I should be as well, but, I can't so it must be something else…] Wang Ling observed what it was.

He cared little for the accumulating pain he felt. His skin was tearing off, but he didn't pay it any mind and then, he saw it, Lixus' eyes darting around, following, something.

It was not his hands, because it moved even before he Wang Ling could wind up. No, it was something, that came before the wind up.
