Chapter 559: The Origin of the First Words (1/2)

”But the previous Incarnations only wished for peace… they wanted nothing more than for the fighting to stop. Didn't All-Father inherited their will?” Phena asked.

”I did, I just don't care. Just because they were supreme beings does not mean they are right all the time. And especially because they are Gods that they are wrong.” Wang Ling looked over at the battlefield where the two protected Naor, ”Look at that, those two, do you who they are?”

”…No, and I've been meaning to ask who are they as well. They are so strong, but I cannot even grasp what they are… I cannot feel their presence.”

”I see, I thought the Ancestors could feel them, but I think they have yet to grasp their existence as much as I thought. Those two, they are the personification of the Ruler of Chaos' breath, the personification of Carnage and Harmony, the Hellish and Holy Qi.”

Wang Ling waited for a reaction, but Phena could not find the words. He spoke as if he just uttered something simple, yet, the revelation to Phena could not be understated.

”…does that mean qi is alive?”

It was the only thing she could squeeze out from her unravelling thoughts.

Wang Ling raised his brows and shrugged his shoulders, ”I don't know. But the only thing that's pure in this Universe is their existence so I do not think so. The Supreme Qi exist as me, and the other qis have entangled together that nothing more is individualistic.

”Qi is not as strong as it used to be. However, it's not all that bad. The current qi of today makes gathering elements, and becoming attune to nature easier. With the bundled qi also allows quicker ascension—dear me, I rambled on and on, and that wasn't even the point of this talk.”

”It is quite all right, I learned more than I thought I would.”

Wang Ling now, looked back at Phena, he was smiling still. But even that, slowly disappeared, his eyes closed and then when it opened, it glowed azure, like the deepest trenches of the deepest oceans, ”Now it is my turn to ask a question.” He said.

Phena, felt the air change in an instant, ”What is it, All-Father?” she kept her attitude.

Wang Ling, however, chuckled as he looked at her, ”It is just quite simple, really. It involves not philosophy or desire, I just want to know how you learned something —”

At that moment, when he muttered these carefree statements, everything for Phena started to twist and churn. If before, Wang Ling's killing intent was already terrifying, now, it was overbearing… darkness enveloped Phena as she was asked, ”How did you Deities came to know that the Gray Figure was trapped in the Origin Bloodline?”

The jarring change in his demeanor was beyond incomprehensible. The once calm and collected Wang Ling now stood in front of her without so much as a hint of stability, he wanted to know something and instinctively, Phena understood she cannot say something he did not want to hear. She had to say it, the truth.
