Chapter 557: Curious Children (1/2)

Two children, one boy, and one girl.

They wore unbelievably mismatching clothing to the battlefield they stepped on. The girl wore a white one-piece dress and the boy was in simple shorts and a black cloak.

The girl had barely any presence. She looked adorable, like the perfect child, but, to Naor, she was no more than a Mortal like any other. But was even weirder. Her presence on the Cosmic Road was enough of an anomaly to him think otherwise.

Naor, however, didn't think much of it, not because he lost interest, but because of another.

The boy had black hair and a coat. His ears were long and on his back was something so black that it absorbed any light. Its darkness was without limits, but that was not the greatest thing about the boy. It was his overflowing energy of hell, his origin trembled.

The boy caught his attention much more than the other. He held not a smile, but kindest and familiarity in obsidian eyes. He looked apathetic, but Naor felt a sense of kindship to the mysterious boy, no, it was no mere sense of being from the same clan.

The boy was clearly not a member of the Devils, he was more and so was the little girl.

[Who is this boy? He's not even a member of the Devils and yet his hellish qi is so strong…] Naor's mind could not comprehend it. Looking at the boy, he could not wrap his mind at any speculations, [His aura is prevalent even though he's just there… he doesn't look strong, yet he's not weaker than I or anyone I have met… he reminds of the Oldest. And as for the girl… she is one that I cannot even begin to study.]

The two had nothing in common, other than the sword they both wielded with pride. Their swords reflected their presence, black and golden. It hummed nothing and their stances clumsy. The two were amateurish to say the least, but, none of the Revenants nor Demons moved against them.

No, it was not they didn't it was, they couldn't. In the instance they move, the dwellers of the Abyss knew that no good would come. There was no opening, and their danger sense evoked them to run away… something they could not do.

”Who are you two? We don't remember any more GodKings other than the fools who fell for mere distractions.” A Revenant stated with derision.

Angel looked at them and scoffed with utter disappointment, ”You guys really are just clones. Babbling away like this, telling others your plans like some fool, are you even really a perfect copy of him?” Angel couldn't help by laugh.

The Revenant closed his eyes and sighed, ”You speak as if you knew what you are talking abo—”

”Calling for reinforcement and wasting time by speaking is useless, you know?” Azazil shook his head, ”Poor Angel, do you not see that they are merely buying time? I felt the tremble in the hellish qi, trying to connect to someplace, I think they are calling for others, quite possibly the Origin General—ow… don't do that!”

Angel poke Azazil's shoulders with her golden sword, ”You think I didn't know that? He did it so obviously that anyone could have noticed! I was waiting for the Origin Fool to appear so we can end this and have him killed by Ling. You just ruined that.”

Angel harrumphed at her brother's foolishness.

Azazil almost wanted to retaliate but, he closed and opened his mouth and just said, ”The connection was blocked. I cannot sense the connection, so he must be in another dimension.”

Angel's brows shot up, she moved closer to Azazil and whispered, 'Really? Could it be that he's only at the Abyss?'

'Unlikely, now that I have the Wang Ling's essence of life, I can tell that the Hellish Qi managed to advance into the Abyss. There are still a tens of thousands Devil Revenants there, but none of them was the one to be contacted through our existence. That means, the Origin General must be somewhere hidden.'

'Wait, your prying can reach the Abyss?'
