Chapter 543: The Void II (2/2)

”The Origin General, he wants to finish—curating true and everlasting Peace.” With those words, Ling-Cho finally reached the end of his time and so has Chun. Immediately, a bright light came down upon the mountain where they were at. Bathing in a silver light, Ling-Cho forced Wang Ling's body to move.

The pain was felt not in the physical form but in the ethereal. His already weak soul began to crack from within as he had to fight back Wang Ling's right to dominate what is rightfully his. However, he did his best and with his finger he swung with full strength.

A tear formed across the sky and from the other side of the tear was the overwhelming suction force of the Void. Their ethereal forms were soon lifted from the ground.

Chun's decomposing body reverted slowly and then to its perfect form. On the bleeding skies was an invisible darkness only Bai Xue could see.

”Bai Xue, I apologize for setting you to suffer because of my obsession. I controlled the Ancestors, my first children to feel my void, but now that I am leaving, they will know… what is the right thing to do. Please, find it in your hearts to forgive them.”

The now purified light of Chun provided Bai Xue to accept her words. She did not doubt her Predecessor or at least not anymore, she just smiled, ”I will. I may not received your memories, but that sensation of a protector is always ever present in me all the same. Though I can't say the same I am as soft as you, I can at least forgive those who did nothing wrong.”

”…Thank you, I couldn't have hoped for a better Successor.” Chun said these words without a shadow of a doubt. She received Bai Xue's memories and emotions, or rather, she stole them from her when she took over her body.

Chun was sure Bai Xue would take good care of her children.

The light, however, was seen by every single Deity and those tens of thousands of kilometers away.

The Deities and the Origin Races, or at least those strong enough could feel it in their very bones and even souls. They were tempted to move, but, instead of doing such a thing, they all lowered their heads in response and all whispered at the same time, ”Thank you.”

The invisible tear disappeared with Chun and a blue ethereal light.

They did not leave with rumblings thunders or the horns of the Gods, but rather, a collective instinctual whisper of gratitude and soft tears from the strongest and hardened creatures of the Universe.
