Chapter 539: Livid (1/2)

Inside the darkness, there was the light three. One was red, the other blue, and another, a dim white light. The bearer of the red light looked down upon the limp body of the fox, losing her white blood with the passing second.

”I—I did it, she's dead, finally, she's gone and we can be together now, Lin—”

The bearer of the red light stopped at the sight of the blue light's bearer… changed. Bound by a scaly serpentine body. His mouth covered, yet he knew all too well he could break free at any moment.

His binds were only there only because the one inside him cared much for the possessor of the flesh. Yet, now, everything flipped over, and the hold.just.snapped. Black tendrils, sprouted from underneath his skin as his eyes revolved. His pupils dilated seeing the flowing white blood from Bai Xue's body.

The wisp of the natural laws leaving her body began to fade, with the life of a Monarch. Space quaked, it wept yet not for the fallen body of the white light… but for the anger of its Creator—Wang Ling.

”No… it's happening again.” The Predecessor's eyes dilated from fear seeing the ”Ling… no, don't do this… don't let it take hold of yo—AHHHH!”

The binds holding him back shred to bits and pieces by mere killing intent turned to the personification of death. The Predecessor already forgot of the pain she was in, and could only see the being wrapped in darkness before her.

”Ling! Th—that darkness? Don't tell me… did you accept the darkness?”

The Predecessor spoke with distressed emotions. Unable to keep her mind stable seeing the rising darkness from Wang Ling's light, replacing life. Wang Ling got on her his knees, the tips of his fingers brushing past Bai Xue's hair.

”Xue… no….” Wang Ling's voice was weak. Something that had been heard before. Speechless and unable to utter a single tone and with such a weak voice, the swirling darkness surrounding the cavern stopped and then, flooded back into Wang Ling's body.

From his back, an invisible path opened. A tattoo etched in gold, a wing inside a golden circle. The path hovered right above Wang Ling's nape. The cavern was remade to how it was. The Deities scattered on the ground, unconscious, the blades and weapons he wasted.

All of it remained but, the flowing white blood coming from Bai Xue. Always, Wang Ling roars and screams as he fought Demons and other humans. Ironically, however, this silence of his was so deafening that the compressed Realm meant to contain Deities and the Predecessor shook… and the World… warped.

”My love, are you—” the Predecessor stopped her words, and watched Wang Ling hold Bai Xue in his hands. Tightly embracing her limp body, bringing her close to his face as the stream of tears escaped from his eyes.

She bit her lower lip, to make an attempt to approach Wang Ling. Wanting to touch his skin. Upon coming closer than a meter, her entire body froze. In front of her, in arm's length was the one she lost. She reached out to him with a smile—
