Chapter 444 - Paragon (1/2)
A worldly phenomenon happened and only those with the Primordial Bloodlines felt its wave. The only ones other than the Impostors outside the Tomb was Roan whose smile failed to waver in anticipation of the coming bloodbath.
”A bloodbath? That's not good.”
”You don't seem too perturbed about the situation, young lady. Are you not worried about your lover—”
”Please, don't refer to me about him in such a way.” Chang Ping said with absolute seriousness, ”He and I will never be in such a relationship.”
”…okay, I thought he was a nice guy, didn't peg him to be hated this much.”
”No… sigh*… I do not hate him but his wife will kill me at the thought of such a thing.”
The thought of vying for the right to be Wang Ling's lover wasn't exactly foreign to Chang Ping. She admired him and even though she was in love with him at some point in time, Chang Ping already saw Bai Xue… and her devotion to him was no laughing matter.
She had seen the bloody night of the Sprouting Lovers. When Wang Ling perished and the Wang Family was hailed as a part of the Great Families, numerous people claimed to be Wang Ling's spouses and children. Hundreds came in droves, and hundreds were killed under the wrath of the grieving Bai Xue.
Roan could see the absolute terror under Chang Ping's eyes, and considering how this woman had enough sword intent to cut the skin of a Devil, Roan did not take her words to be simple. He chose to stop thinking about the matter.
”Either way, he's most likely the one these frauds going after you know?” Roan was surprised by her calmness.
”Is that… wait, what? Then we better help him!”
”Can't, I want to tear the formation down but it will only swallow everyone inside the crushing tomb. And because of personal reasons, I can't intervene in the Mortal World. I'll say pray that he'll live, but the Beloved Creator died a long time ago, so just hope he escapes…hmm?”
”What? What is it?” Chang Ping asked as Roan suddenly began acting weirdly.
Roan didn't answer her all of a sudden, he just stayed silent observing the situation.
His Devil eyes allowed him to peer past the formation, and as seconds went on, Roan's face changed multiple times, ”I think your friend has a chance now.”
Inside the Tomb.
”May I ask what's your intention in coming here?”
The Wang Lings lined up, and before them was a woman with long white hair standing before them, sword in hand.
She wore a mask and her feminine voice echoed in the group of frauds' ears. They all smiled at her words and then one of them stepped forward, ”To take a walk, that is all.” The fraud answered and then flicked his sword with grace bringing out a sword.
The woman just sighed and as she did so, she swung her sword on the ground and created a line, ”Anyone who crosses this will die.” She said these words as vast killing intent drowned the frauds.
The frauds smiled at this and answered back with a wave of killing intent of their own that melded to devour the woman's, ”How cute.” The frauds said as one quickly moved and dashed forward.
As several of them dashed towards the woman, the first to touch the line beside her was the first to see a flash of crimson light, ”Heralding Blade: Phoenix's Beak.”
STAB!
One of the frauds actually had his head pierced after the woman's frontal assault. Though a Fraud, he was still a Wang Ling, and for to die this easily lies at the fact that he did not think that this woman would actually go and attack him because at this moment, as the woman killed out, seven swords were coming for her.
