Chapter 167 - Blood Seeker (1/2)

With fire burning under his eyes, Wang Ling turned to look at Yan Renhuo and asked, ”Is this book real? Is my… Is Wang Wudi's sword still exist in this world? At least its fragments?”

Yan Renhuo saw a brand new Wang Ling who was neither calm nor indifferent from what other people see. Wang Ling was at this moment yearning for something, those eyes of his speaks of his desires.

[He wants them.] Yan Renhuo knew why Wang Ling was confirming if the swords were true or not. Yan Renhuo was no fool, she was a genius, it was normal for her to know such things if the emotions she was shown was so blatant. She was worried.

Nodding her head, Yan Renhuo warned Wang Ling, ”The swords are real and it is indeed made from the fragments of Wang Wudi's sword fragments. It had already been proven as the sword that was created would hum at the touch of blood.

”Wang Wudi also had another name, it was the Blood Seeking Celestial. They say that he was so enthralled with the idea of killing that those who managed to piss him off will die without any time to talk the matter down.”

Yan Renhuo gave a proper background about Wang Wudi to Wang Ling.

Wang Ling was laughing inside his head, what Yan Renhuo had just said were true facts and he did indeed killed everyone who crossed his path. But the only flaw with her knowledge was that he wasn't the one who started the fight, it was those sects.

[Also, the sword hummed because of its materials and my intent remains intact in those fragments. That means my path still remains and I finally reunite with my old weapon.

But it's broken… I'll just reforge it to my liking, the current path I take and the previous path and treaded will meet.]

Wang Ling showed a smile. But as the idea of reuniting with the Blood Seeker popped inside his head, a looming figure inside his heart appeared. His old self was showing itself and soon enough, he will be able to return to his former glory and reach new heights.

Calming himself down, Wang Ling once again read through the books. He learned more and more and understood the concept of the Great War.

Before long, he didn't have any more questions. He felt satisfied, but in between the tales, Wang Ling found something interesting.

”30,000 years after the previous era was destroyed and the world slowly rose to chaos and prosperity, two beings from different realms descended onto the celestial spirit realm. The Phoenix from Hell and the Dragon from Heaven fought one another and the divine dragon won. The divine dragon stated that he will once again return. But the dragon never returned.”

Wang Ling read through the books and found it odd. Dragons were being to hold grudges. The dragon was the white dragon that Bai Xue spoke of and the unfinished business should be her as well.

But that dragon had yet to descend. Is it making light of Bai Xue? Well, she is trapped and her cultivation was a wreck. But if a dragon was dedicated enough to make a vow, why would it not descend for another time?

What is happening in the Heaven Realm that is obstructing it to go back down? Is it dead already?

Wang Ling could not make any concrete conclusion so he decided to just throw the ideas on the back of his head.

[The dragon will come if it's not dead. But if that time comes, it will be trouble. That dragon had cultivated for more than 170,000 years. I'll die together with Xue if we try to fend it off.]

After 170,000 years, that dragon should have cultivated and grown in terms of the cultivation stage. Wang Ling did not know what kind of realm is in the Heaven Realm, but he was sure that something bad will happen once that dragon descends from above.

With his mind in shambles, Wang Ling decided to stop thinking about anything altogether. He stood up and turned to Yan Renhuo and thanked her for the time and effort she had to spend when she was with him.

After some words of appreciation, they went to keep the records to their rightful places and went out of the Ancient Records Library. After heading out, Wang Ling turned to the distance and saw the sun rising.

Wang Ling decided that it was time for him to leave. Yan Renhuo was rather hesitant but in the end, she had no say on what Wang Ling could do. So, she had ended up showing the way to the gates of the Ancient Scriptures Academy.

Standing in front of the Ancient Scriptures Academy's gates, Wang Ling and Yan Renhuo stared at each other. Wang Ling smiled at her as he found her sudden increase in cultivation truly magnificent.

The thought of marriage once again entered his mind. But as his mind was still muddled, it is not the time to marry someone. He sighed as he thought.

[Relationsh.i.p.s is hard. Familial relationship is easier.] Wang Ling thought, his thoughts were so because he had never seen any unbearable family member. But if Wang Hong turned out to be someone who ended up as an enemy rather than an ally, he was sure that having a family would be as fun and fulfilling.

Wang Ling put on a smile as he found it amusing that he was now considering such thoughts. In the past, such an idea would not even cross his mind much less consider it.

[Marriage… I still can't indulge in anything other than gaining strength. Only personal strength can ensure that I'll be able to live without that constant fear… I can't have them leave my side anymore.]

Wang Ling sighed as he patted Yan Renhuo's shoulders and said, ”I will see you later, I wish we will meet without me asking any favors.”
