Before Joanna could ask more, another man walked into the room. Without looking at him, he said, ”Mr. Fu, the car is ready. You can go back now.”
Fu Siming nodded. His pretentious attire and excessive amount of styling wax had long made him feel uncomfortable all over. If it wasn't for the fact that the host of the party was a potential customer that Starlight Corporation would be developing in the near future, he wouldn't even have bothered to attend such an event.
”Can you walk?” Fosmin looked at Joanna, waiting for her to speak with a cold face.
Johann tried to get up, but just as he touched the ground, he felt his legs go soft and he fell.
He reached out to catch her, but pulled back a second before his hand touched Joanna's.
”So painful …”
The woman fell to the ground.
”Angel, carry her away.” With that, Fu Siming turned and left the ward, as if he didn't want to stay a moment longer.
”Wait a minute!”
He tried to resist, but he had no strength left in him. He could only let Anjel carry her on his shoulder and leave the room.
Although she couldn't remember her own past at all, nor did she know her name or identity, nor did she even know if there were any relatives living in the world, she couldn't just believe a single word that a stranger had said.
As he sat in the back seat, he saw that Anjel was about to put Joanna down beside him. His face immediately darkened, and he made no effort to hide his disgust as he said, ”Throw her in the trunk.”
”You …”
Qiao Yifan looked at the man with the cold face in horror and asked, ”Didn't you say I was your wife? ”Why are you doing this to me?”
”It's precisely because you are a 'special' person to me that I am giving you special treatment.”
Fu Siming smiled, but it was a smile that did not reach his eyes. Joanna was thrown into the trunk and watched the light fade until it sank into darkness.
”There's still a long way to go. You can't be so lucky every time. ”
A faint smile gradually formed on his lips, as well as the pride of toying with his prey in the palm of his hand.
When Joanna opened her eyes again, she was no longer in the hospital.
