Chapter 556 - Propose (1/2)

Succeeding days were back to normal where Candice left too and went back to country D. Meanwhile, Cali and Rui were back to school since Cali wanted to finish the culinary courses she took.

”Rui, I think you should stop studying with me. Why not check Yang Global's subsidiary hospital in this country instead sweetheart? Xander is right, you should check and supervise it while we stay here. I can manage on my own in the university. You will drop me and pick me up from school anyway” Cali commented because she was aware that Rui was not fond of studying culinary at all. He was doing it to stay with her, but it was no longer needed since they were in a relationship together.

Rui also thought the same because he too did not want Cali to feel suffocated with his presence.

”Alright let us do that then. I will talk to the teachers today. Finish your food now and let's go back to our class” Rui said with a smile. Cali then continued eating lunch with him at the school canteen.

Later, after school, she and Rui would go on a double date with Yera and Xander. She also wanted to ask Yera for help on how she should surprise Rui. She wanted to do something memorable with him while she confessed that she had already remembered him.

She already had something in mind though, but it would need at least three days of preparation. After the class, Rui already informed the school administration about him dropping out of school.

Soon they left and were now on their way to the mall where they would take a stroll with Yera and Xander.

”Hmm, I only hope that there will be no more pests around you after I leave” Rui commented with pursed lips referring to men who would try to woo Cali.

Cali chuckled and hugged Rui's arm as she moved closer to lean on him while Rui was driving.

”Of course, I will personally tell them to go away since I'm already married” Cali whispered unconsciously that made Rui suddenly stop the car at the side.

”Married?” Rui burst.

Cali wanted to pull her hair for being careless. She smiled at Rui and said, ”Yeah, I considered myself married since I only see myself being with you Rui.”

Rui knitted his brows. He looked confused so Cali cupped his face and asked, ”Will you marry me, Rui Dee?”

It was so sudden that Cali too did not know why she suddenly said that. There was only silence and Cali got worried seeing Rui's eyes glistened with tears.

”What is this?! Why are you proposing to me first?” Rui complained, his eyes brimming with tears. It was too unexpected. He wanted to do it soon, but he was worried that Cali would be surprised since they've just recently gotten into a relationship.

Cali wiped the tears on his face as she murmured, ”I know, but I can't wait to be next to you for the rest of my life. I love you so much.”

Rui was so speechless that he just pulled Cali to his embrace and sealed her lips with a passionate kiss. He was the one to release her as well, or else he could have taken her then and there at that moment because of the increased intensity in his body not to mention his burning emotions and desire for her at that moment.

He moved and grabbed something in his car. It was Cali's engagement ring that he was planning to give her back at any moment.

He opened the small box and put the diamond ring back on her finger.

”It's beautiful,” Cali gasped. She was too overwhelmed to have that ring back on her finger.
