Chapter 550 - Straight Home (1/2)

Rui had started getting annoyed with Candice's clinginess towards Cali. She was even holding Cali's hand, the hand that only he was supposed to be holding. All the while he just walked at the back, following the two women who seemed to be getting closer by the minute.

”Seriously?” he annoyingly whispered before he sat in front of them in the university canteen, for lunch.

Candice only chuckled seeing how crumpled Rui's face was.

”Hey, what's with all the frowning? We will all get indigestion if you don't stop your frowning.” Candice teased.

Rui did not reply but only crumpled his face more. Candice was about to tease him some more but she felt someone's presence so she quickly said, ”You two enjoy lunch… I will leave for a while.”

”Good,” Rui unconsciously answered, making Candice laugh and said, ”I will be back fast though, dear.”

As soon as Candice left, Rui complained, ”I've been missing you so much. Can't you sneak out tonight and sleep in my room instead?”

Cali gave him an awkward smile and said, ”Hmm, I can but I don't think that would be a good idea.”

Rui pouted his lips and snorted, ”I guess you're not missing me as much as I'm missing you.”

Cali grabbed Rui's hand and gently squeezed it. She wanted to tell Rui what Candice told her but it could jeopardize the operation so she controlled herself and instead said, ”I miss you too. Later, I will see if I can sneak out for like an hour or so. Is that okay?”

Rui shook his head. How come Candice was always a pain in the ass. He honestly felt something weird with Candice staying with them for so long so he would discuss this matter with Xander, later.

After lunch, when Candice was still not back, Cali left a text message for her that she and Rui would attend her next class. Her routine would be like that, reporting Candice of her whereabouts whenever and wherever she goes.

”You've got a new ring?” Rui asked when they held hands while going to the next room.

”Yeah,” Cali answered. Candice gave that ring to her saying it was also a tracking device. Candice asked her to never take it off her no matter what.

Rui recalled their wedding ring. He had kept it with him and would soon return it to Cali once he proposed to her. He unconsciously smiled as he looked at Cali's small hand. He gently kissed it and he felt Cali flinch.

”Too much PDA, huh?” she whispered with red cheeks and it made Rui chuckle. He wanted to tease Cali and tell her, that it was her who was the excessively showy and clingy one, and that what he was doing was not even in the twenty percent compared to what she used to do.

Too bad, since he could only keep it to himself. He did not want to take any chances when it came to Cali's health.

The school soon ended and as usual Candice was once again nowhere to be found so Rui just left her a text message that they would leave for home first.

”How about we go out for dinner?” Rui suggested while they were inside the car.

Cali bit her lip. She would love that but Candice said they should go straight home if she was not with them. To be honest, she did not know why she was trusting Candice too much, but her instinct was telling her to just follow Candice's instructions and everything would end well and soon.

Candice said no harm would befall her and she actually believed her words but she was skeptical if she should keep it from Rui for too.

”Hmm, I'm a bit tired and I would like to go straight home. How about I stay more in your room while Candice is still not around,” Cali commented since she too would like to cuddle and smooch a little, with Rui.

Rui's face brightened and he quickly said, ”Alright, straight home then.”

Cali chuckled with his excited tone.
