Josh and Shane met Rui at the airport. Shane then personally passed the code to access a certain private file of the Yue clan in the system to Rui, which would be informed to Xander and the team by him indirectly. It was not advisable and safe for her to give this information and code by any other means of using any technology while she was at the Yue clan territory.
Afterward, they all went directly to the hospital to meet Kane.
”Father has arranged a private plane to transport you back home. Jun will arrive soon to pick you up Kane,” Shane explained as soon as they arrived at the hospital.
Kane was silent and kept giving Cali sneak glances. He was hurt… Deeply hurt… Cali had stabbed him straight in his heart, piercing deep through it.
'It's your fault! You asked for it yourself!' Kane's inner self scolded. But what could he do? He wanted to gamble and tell Cali how he really felt somehow.
”Alright Shane, I think I need to go home and gather the pieces of myself up back.” Kane stated, not bothering whether Cali heard it.
Cali looked at Kane. She stood up and walked towards his bed.
”You're a strong man and still very young Kane. I'm sure in no time you will heal. I wish you only the best. Recuperate well and when you're ready, I will go visit you at country V whenever I can,” Cali encouraged, referring not just to Kane's physical wound but his emotions.
Cali believed Kane would soon get over her now that everything was clear. After a careful thought, it was a good thing that Kane told and confirmed to her his true feelings so she could also clarify herself to him. It was good that they could disclose things and closed this topic once and for all.
Shane then held Cali's hand before looking at her husband and said, ”Me and Cali will just grab a coffee downstairs, please look after Kane?”
Josh nodded with a smile while Kane's face crumpled and said, ”I'm not a kid to be looked after by your husband.”
Shane laughed and said, ”Then entertain your brother-in-law while I have some private talks with Cali before going back to the villa.”
Shane then pulled Cali away to the cafe at the ground floor.
”Let's talk here because it's uncomfortable squealing in front of Kane and Josh,” Shane mumbled in excitement.
”Wow! Something good must have happened that you dragged me here to tell!” Cali teased, seeing the beaming and sparkling eyes of Shane. She noticed it too as soon as they entered the hospital, Shane was glowing brightly, much more than the rising sun.
”Josh told me that he loves me!” Shane conveyed giggling and squealing at the same time.
Cali was aware that the marriage between Josh and Shane initially happened because Josh agreed to help her out, but in due time they would void the marriage if it would not work out for both of them. Shane had been honest to Cali about everything. She had no secrets with her except about her involvement with Yue Clan for Cali's own safety also, so she hid it from Cali.
”OMG! That's so great Shane, I'm so happy for you!!!” Cali ecstatically burst. She was even teary eyed.
”Hey why are you crying?” Shane whispered and moved closer to Cali to hug her.
”It's just tears of joy, Shane. I really wanted you to have a happy life and not be caged into a forced marriage with some old and perverted man. I was glad and happy to know that you liked and loved Josh but I was worried at the same time, though I knew your set-up was real so I kept hoping that Josh learns to love you along the way….
Who would have thought it would be answered right away? Oh, I'm truly so happy, Shane. Josh has a wonderful family and I can assure uncle that you will be taken care of in Josh's home. Gosh, my tears keep on flowing!” Cali remarked.
”You too Cali… I'm hoping for the best for you.” Shane uttered. Rui seemed to be treating Cali well. He had excused himself to attend some works after bringing her and Josh to Kane.
