In July 2000, the weather was surprisingly hot and stuffy.
The general surgery of the First People's Hospital of Zhengyuan County was already packed with people. Many beds, doctors and nurses were densely packed in the long corridor.
Liu Du was practicing in general surgery, and today was the second day of his practice.
There were simply too many patients and the doctors and nurses were busy, so the interns were naturally of use. Just as Liu Du walked into the doctor's office, the head nurse followed closely behind him.
”Liu Du, you will be in charge of number 38.” The matron looked at the sign on Liu Du's chest, then placed a piss bag in front of him. ”Her operation is scheduled for 9 o'clock, you should go over quickly.”
Liu Du remembered that this patient was a thirty year old woman. She was beautiful and charming, with a mature woman's charm.
Of course, the reason why Liu Du remembered her wasn't because of these, but because her bed number was truly a little too …
”Teacher, I have no experience, and she's a girl, I …” Liu Du was not trying to shirk the responsibility, but he truly did not know how to do so.
This made him very afraid.
Of course, he couldn't be blamed for this, because he had never attended any medical academy before, it was just that his father opened a clinic and needed help. After Liu Du graduated from high school with nothing to do, his father entrusted him with the task of sending him there to study.
”No?” ”There's always a first time round. You have to do things according to what your teacher teaches you, there's nothing that you can't do!” The head nurse did not know of Liu Du's background and directly interrupted him. She did not listen to his explanation and spoke with a heavy tone, ”Are you a doctor? In the eyes of doctors, there is no difference between men and women! ”
The head nurse paused for a moment, then added, ”If you don't go, then don't practice here anymore!”
Liu Du wanted to argue, but hearing the head nurse's words, he could only swallow his words. Looking at the head nurse who was hurriedly walking away, he quietly muttered: ”Sigh, aren't we just rushing the ducks to get caught!”
”Yeah, the doctor doesn't have any men or women in his eyes. He only has patients.” Liu Du took a deep breath.
Alright, to be honest, this fellow can't be considered a doctor. However, his self-suggestion is extremely useful. He actually started to become a doctor. His heart wasn't as tense as before.
”Bed 38, Song Yanhong, prepare yourself.” Wearing a large disposable mask and hat, covering two-thirds of his face, Liu Du's anxious heart finally calmed down.
Song Yanhong's eyes were clearly filled with disbelief. A hint of bashful red surfaced on her fair face, and it even added a certain charm. ”Little doctor, you?”
”Un, relax a bit. It will be fine very soon.” As he gradually adapted to his role, Liu Du's nervousness eased up by a lot.
Trembling as he opened the bag, Liu Du struggled to look away from him. ”You, you relax.”
”It's finally done.” After he caught the bag, Liu Du secretly heaved a sigh of relief. He nervously wiped his sweat and turned the switch on, but didn't find a single drop of urine coming out.
Seeing this, the sweat that had just cooled down came back out. He felt like his whole body was being pierced by needles. ”Hey, why is it not coming out of the water?”
However, after switching it on and off a few times, the urine still did not come out. His heart became even more perturbed.
”Little doctor, are you done?” It was Song Yanhong who had maintained this posture and could not help but ask.
”That's good, that's good.” Liu Du felt a headache coming on, and cold sweat rolled down his body like countless little bugs crawling. It was extremely uncomfortable, and he kept cursing the head nurse who asked him to come and pee.
Just as Liu Du was at a loss for what to do, he saw a nurse walking in. Seemingly like a drowning person who had grabbed onto the last straw of straw to save his life, he quickly walked over and said, ”Nurse, I, I can't urinate, help me take a look.”
These words were obviously a bit wrong, but it sounded more like a tease. The nurse blushed and spat softly, ”You little classmate, what do you think you're saying?”
”Hurry up and help me, I …” The sweat on Liu Du's forehead had already drenched his Disposable Mask and hat.
”Alright, I'll take a look for you.” Seeing Liu Du's miserable state, the nurse finally could not bear to see him in such a state.
Liu Du didn't know how he walked back to the doctor's office. He only knew that everyone was laughing, looking at him with a smile.
So he ran out of general surgery and out into the street.
