3 Acquaintance? (2/2)
”Y-yes?” Karma replied.
”I'm grateful you saved her from those fuckers,” said the guy. ”But I suggest you not to get all chummy with her. The next time I hear about you being close to her, you're dead.”
The guy lets go of Karma and walked off. Karma sighed.
*This is why I didn't want to get involved with her.*
Karma made his way to the cafeteria. He brought a yakisoba bun and walked to the rooftop. The breeze greeted him and he made his way to a bench. He munched on his bun as he looked at the sky.
*I need to learn to control it. I can't just keep on letting it come out*
The bell rang. Karma got up and walked down the stairs to his class. He threw the plastic in the trash and walked to his seat. After a few hours, the bell rang to signal the end of school. Karma got up and walked out of the classroom.
As he made his way to the entrance, Karma heard a girl's voice calling him. He turned around and saw Shirohana running towards him. Karma quickly turned and ran out of the school.
”Wait! Karma!” Shirohana said, running.
Karma ignored her and just kept on running. Karma ran down the street, with Shirohana chasing after him.
”Why are you running away?!” Shirohana yelled.
Karma pretended to not hear and kept on running. As he crossed the street, he heard Shirohana fall. He turned around and saw that her ankle was sprained. A car was speeding towards her.
*Dammit!*
Karma ran back carried her in his arms and ran towards the sidewalk. The car zoomed past, almost hitting Karma's leg.
Karma sighed in relief as both of them were ok.
”T-thanks for saving me again,” Shirohana said, blushing. Karma didn't know why she was embarrassed. Then he realized he was carrying her bridal style. There were people looking and whispering.
Karma blushed a bright red. Then, he ran to a bench and laid Shirohana down. Then, Karma sat down on the far end of the bench.
”Call someone to pick you up,” Karma said.
”I'll do that later,” Shirohana said. ”Why did you run away from me?”
”You don't need to know,” Karma said. ”Just make your call so we can be on our way.”
Karma turned around to see if Shirohana was making a call. To his surprise, Shirohana was close to his face.
”Did Josh say something to you?” Shirohana said, looking at Karma in the eyes.
”Who?” Karma asked.
”He's the guy who I saw grab you,” Shirohana replied. ”He's my childhood friend and he's way too overprotective. I will have a talk with him.”
”It's fine. You shouldn't associate with me. I'm a nobody. I also don't want to get involved with anything.” Karma said
”But you saved me, even though you didn't want anything to do with me,” Shirohana said.
”It was a natural thing to do,” Karma said. ”Anyway, call someone. I'll be going now.”
Karma stood up and walked away. He turned around and saw someone helping Shirohana in a car. Karma sighed in relief and walked home.
